It worked for them last year. I think if anything, it proves that it's risky and cannot be the relied on as the primary strategy. Big difference in FSU approach and say OSU approach. Both spend big, but do it differently.
The talent available in the portal will continue to get leaner as the Covid era guys with extra eligibility finish filtering out.

The glue that held everything together was Jordan Travis. He covered up a LOT of underlying weaknesses in that roster that didn't get exposed until the Georgia game.

Don't get me wrong - a 13-0 regular season + the ACC Championship is a great year. But they gutted out wins against some pretty bad teams (BC, Miami, an average Clemson team) based in large part on Travis's brilliance. When that was lost, they were cooked.

Understand. It was the defense that was the difference maker last year. They played in the portal for that. I don't think that's easily replicated.

Good thing ND got that premium pricing in early, because holy cow what a dumper of a game this will be... except the ND kicking ass part.

Wasn't it even worse than premium pricing? Premium pricing PLUS you had to buy NIU as well?

My boss and I both received emails today from a company offering free tickets.

Their game against Clemson this past weekend wasn’t really as close as the scoreboard makes it seem, Clemson dominated and just couldn’t finish drives + missed field goals. Doubled them up in yardage.

Brock Glenn was actually decent, would imagine he’s the QB going forward. Just no reason to play DJ U anymore.

Supposedly DJ is injured, but that could be a ploy for Florida State to save face, or for DJ to protect what little (if any) draft potential he has as Florida State continues to tank. He supposedly had surgery on his hand for a broken finger in his throwing hand. They say he may be done for the season, and I would expect that to be the case. I doubt he'll want to come back against us or even Florida after being out, and certainly not in a bowl with backups, if FSU even gets there. I don't see them getting more than a few more wins all year.

This is unacceptable for a coach to act like this. But it’s Florida state so it should surprise anyone. Shit hole schools hire shit hole people.

Norvells buyout is $70 million.

Parlayed one good year into serious bank. Good work by him and his agent

It was a stupid extension in the first place. Unless you win a title in In your first 4 years an extension should be off the table.

What do you suggest going about this?
