Been in the parking lot tailgating for over an hour and surprisingly empty so far. Must be a lot of Aggies at gameday

I’ve seen a lot in Austin getting ready to head to the game. A lot of ND fans coming in from Houston today as well.

Everyone of the Gameday panel picked A&M except for the old senile guy (I love Corso), lol

GameDay crew predictably being homers for A&M, but the Kyle Field love was a bit over the top.
Yeah, it was kind of annoying. Obvs they're playing to the crowd but none of them had anything to say beyond "A&M gonna win because it's so loud." Thought at least Saban would mention the actual football part.

May I be so bold as to proclaim that I hate all these fux picking A&M. Rhetorically, what the fuk is an aggie anyway? More importantly, who actually cares?

Irish by 1000.
I'm sure this is unwanted lesson but I like learning things.

I believe an "Aggie" is just person who attends an agricultural school. At least in its origin I think. Now I would associate Aggie with farmers as well (splitting hairs, I know).

It can be confusing though, if you look at old newspaper clippings, you might see headlines like "Texas Aggies take down Mississippi Aggies." This would indicate that TAMU beat Mississippi State. I think it was just an early way to distinguish between a state's "flagship" and the "ag" school in state's where those are separate institutions but both named after the state.

ND Ag (now NDSU) was the Aggies.
TAMU still the Aggies.
Michigan Ag (MSU) was the Aggies.
Kansas State was the Aggies.
Colorado A&M (CSU) was the Aggies.

Etc. I think now it is used by a couple other schools as a bona fide mascot - perhaps a reference to the region's history or farming. There are some high schools who use it too - albeit not many.

Idc if people pick A&M but it's driving me wild how many are calling it an upset considering they are quite literally the betting favorite and like every TV personality is openly picking A&M. Will we get credit for a road SEC upset if we win or just credit for winning as the "superior" team?

Does anyone know where I can purchase the ND hat that Shane Gillis was wearing this morning on College Gameday?

It’s such a lazy pick. AM is favored but ranked lower. My fear is that ND doesn’t feel like the underdog but are but isn’t… lol. They win and they were supposed to, they lose and were supposed to win.
