A few position battles that are surprising given what we were expecting just a couple weeks ago:

Shuler is the starting safety opposite X (Heard is the backup to X)
Faison listed ahead of Kris Mitchell
Pendleton at LG (jumps 2 players with starting experience and the other promising sophomore, Absher)
Karson Hobbs listed 2nd at nickel behind Jordan Clark (instead of Rod Heard who played a ton of nickel at Northwestern)
Our top 2 RBs are listed as KRs after Jayden Harrison (seems risky given the depth)

I’ll be watching to see how accurate that depth chart really is. I’m sure it’s not 100% legit.

Since Pendleton and Knapp were well reported already biggest surprise is probably Rod Heard not in the two deep at either nickel or boundary safety. Listed behind Watts which is basically “won’t play unless injury “

And instead the boundary safety backup is the combination of Luke Talich and Kennedy Urlacher… who saw that coming???

Excited for the Pendleton news!
There's no way that move gets made unless he just showed out and no doubt won that job. Returning experience and solid players he passed up.
I sure hope so. Given the lack of information from camp I can't help but worry there are undisclosed issues with Coogan and Spindler. I know they've both been practicing, but still...

"Or" is putting in a lot of work on the WR depth chart. Wouldn't surprise me if Faison, Mitchell, Collins, and Thomas all have pretty equal snap counts.

I locked in ND +3 and the under. I don’t see A&M getting north of 21-24 points, and even if ND’s tackles self destruct it’s hard to see the floor being worse than ~17.
I hit the under weeks ago when it was at 47 points. This is going to be an elite defense and the offense has zero favors. I can see this being a 14-10 kind of game barring defensive scores.

I actually got the under at 50.5 months ago. Can't wait to watch it miss lol.

Rod Heard is expected to play nickel, safety and CB so he’ll be in the game pretty often.

its pretty much the norm now for every team for every position. Example today Auburn released a depth chart where all positions on defense had no clear indicated starters. OR was used for every position.

II reported in a pod last week the Spindler had dominated the 2s in a very recent practice

Spindler and Baker must truly be terrible to be that long in the program and still lose to guys that were playing HS ball a year ago.
One interesting aspect is that Spindler had become an after thought until Rudolph arrived and gave him a fresh start. And now that same coach is the one passing him over for Pendleton.

We just saw Alt come in as a freshman and it worked. Why can't it happen again? Knapp / Pendleton beat them out because they're better. Not because they digressed. Too lazy to research, but I bet the posts about Alt when he had to come in were similar (we're doomed) to the comments about Knapp / Pendleton.
