Does anyone else find it funny that the entire national media & every site keeps talking about ND’s OL, when A&M played a kid at RT all of spring, summer & fall, & now he is slated to start at RG instead? And two of the OL positions have an “or” next to them. So they don’t even have 5 definite starters figured out?
And that’s going against ND’s DL, which has performed better than A&M’s.
And ND is confident in 4 of the 5 spots & thinks the interior is a big strength.
Can A&M name one area of their OL that is a strength? They are confident in one player, Zuhn.

Their OL is enormous. Ours is probably the smallest we have had at ND in 15 years. Pendleton is strong AF, lets hope wagner and Knapp are physical enough to hold their own. I dont doubt the athleticism, something that Baker severely lacks. Rudolph's involved and experienced, but mostly I trust Denbrock to get this right

I’m concerned that our 290 lb tackles are going up against 290 lb DEs. We don’t have anybody that can replicate that size in practice; so it will be their first time against those body types. How well will they play? Will they be able to make the right adjustments?

Exactly what I was thinking. He just said that he wasn't sure the ND secondary was a major advantage over the Ag secondary. I think there's a good possibility that when you factor in Elko's defensive mind, his understanding of ND's QB strengths and weaknesses, and the possible advantage A&M might have in the pass rush and blitzes, the advantage in the secondary of ND may not be all that great as compared to how the A&M secondary might fare. In other words, there may be a lot of factors helping the A&M secondary (including the home field).

Remains to be seen- our secondary might suck, but maybe it wont.

Check out out defensive analytics the oast two years, and hes now got his guys on year 3 of the system. Nevermind the fact that Mike Mickens is easily a top 2-3 developer of secondary talent in the country. This isnt opinion. His track record and who he has developed speaks for itself. Theyve made Caleb Williams and CJ Stroud look pretty pedestrian in back to back seasons and this year by all accounts is expected to be another step forward.

I can see that for the SEC in general but A&M is pretty friendly place. I’ve seen multiple other SEC fans on twitter praise Aggie hospitality. You almost have to be doing something wrong to not get offered free food and beer. Some longhorns might disagree but Y’all aren’t longhorns. Lol

Hope you’re right but I’m skeptical. I’ve had good experiences at Ole Miss & UT so it could happen. Alcohol provides lots of courage for folks.

Keep your head on a swivel my man. SEC fans may be the worst when it comes to opposing fans. On the flip side, Notre Dame is way too nice. I wish they were at least louder & talked more trash minus the drunken harassment of women & children that we see at most other stadiums.

I had great experiences in Athens and Baton Rouge. Austin, not so much … That being said, I always hear A&M fans are notoriously nice and welcoming.

Given Golden's defensive mind, you could use that same logic for ND. After having him on staff and coaching against him, ND's staff knows what Elko likes to do. It's a wash IMO.

Offensive line is a group that is so dependent upon physical strength, size and smarts — many say those guys are the smartest on the team. I’m not saying Knapp and Pendleton can’t get there or won’t progress, but that really is a challenging position to put a true freshman and a redshirt freshman in.

Generally, it takes time to gel as unit. Dealing with the expertise and talent of your opponent combined with the complexity of Denbrock’s offense, defensive scheme, pre-snap audibles, and that crowd noise …. It’s just a big ask for those two.

On one of the II pods, the Tims were talking about how the players are so experienced in Golden's scheme that they started implementing the defense for this season in April. I don't know if enough people are talking about the continuity of the same DC for three years combined with the number of our starters that have been in that same system for all three years.

With knapp, i can somewhat agree. With pendleton, if he truly beat out spindler and Coogan that is a really good sign. Those are two guys that can play fine vs A&M, especially spindler. I actually really like coogan as backup center to have some experience as a backup.

Now with Knapp, I hope he's good, but ND thought they would have Fisher at LT, then Jagusah, then Baker, then Knapp. We've seen this play out with ALT when he was really 4th option early, then ended up being by far the best option. Will we strike gold twice in 4 years? My concern is beating out Tosh isn't saying much. He's just not good.

Even before jagusah injury, there were early really really strong reports on knapp. So that is promising.

In the end, I think we're going to have 5 really talented Olinemen in the game vs A&M, my problem is, it's 3 of the 5 first time playing in college and it's a tough environment to play, and hear for communication. Billy/Craig have a little bit of experience starting and in a loud hostile environment (they got some snaps at louisville and Clemson).

Denbrock has moved the ball with a lot less against some elite defenses.
See Cincy vs UGA bowl game.
That UGA defense was elite.
And he had G5 OL to work with.

Did Georgia not have a ton of talent sitting that one out?

dont forget qbs will have headset to coach so i think less of an issue

I went to A&M for three years. College Station is a good town with great people. You will more than likely be treated very well unless you are dumb enough to show up in the bars running your mouth non-stop.

I do find it funny how sometimes northerners are so afraid of the south. Lived here all my life and wouldn’t have it any other way. Traveled all over but keep coming back to Texas.
