the crutch is when you aren't patient enough to wait for the brisket to pass the 'stall' and instead double foil it in an effort to create a dutch oven effect to force it past the breaking point. Some call it cheating, some say the bark is never the same and I kind of agree but I rarely have 10-12hrs for a full brisket smoke.

One day I'll have a more automated smoker but I've used the PBC (Pit Barrel cooker) for nearly a decade and it's been a good companion. Smoked a hole in the bottom of the steel barrel so upgrade will be happening sooner than later.

What is Auburn projected to do this year? This is like Miami and Jimbo's TAMU again, just straight bankrupting themselves for good classes. To think of all the wasted dollars on buyouts, flameouts, etc.

I guess Auburn will end with a top 5 class when it's finally inked. Helluva turnaround for a team likely to end with 7 wins this year.

It is nearly impossible not to lose fat if you only eat meat. That’s even if you’re sedentary. Lift weights even 3 days per week with progressive overload and just eat meat and you’ll look amazing in just 2-6 months depending on how fat you are. It’s not hard.
You might look great but you have to get some dietary fiber of some sort or your body will eventually turn on itself. Gotta get those phytonutrients and polyphenols. It’s good to have some fat. That’s basically what your entire brain is made of and no I’m not talking animal fat, fat from plants. I basically do the carnivore diet but add veggies and fruits. Nothing with added sugars, sweeteners, or artificial sweeteners and absolutely no processed carbs or starches. Basically only eat meat, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, veggies, and fruits.

I follow a similar plan but 40-50% of my protein intake is via protein powder in some form. I find it hard to hit my protein requirements on whole foods. I make protein pancakes in the morning, we do the Ninja Creami protein ice cream at night as a treat and in between it's nothing but lean protein (chicken thighs, pork loin, steak, 93/7 burgers) , fruit and veggies w/ occasional complex/starchy carbs - rice, potatoes.

The protein pancake is where I get a ton of fiber and good fats. Recipe makes 2 servings of 2 panckes:
  • 2 scoops chocolate protein powder - whey/micellar blend
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 8 oz almond milk
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • 3-4 tbsp wheat germ
  • 3-4 tbsp flax seed
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 whole banana
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp fiber supplement
  • add extra milk to desired consistency, blend and cook on hot griddle.
I usually add a little whipped cream for a treat. We all have our vices.

Our food bill has gone down drastically since we rarely eat out, probably averaging 3x/month

If any of you struggle with a sweet tooth, the Ninja Creami ice cream blender thing has been a game changer for me. I have one every single night and it's legit good. It was a birthday present and I had no idea what it was when I opened it. One of the best bday presents ever.

I do the fairlife milk, 6-8 oz, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1 tbsp sugar free pudding mix, freeze for at least 6-8 hrs, blend when ready. Absolutely delicious, meets my sweet tooth demands and is a nice dose of protein leading into rest/recovery hours through the night.

I saw this video where a woman did nothing but eggs for a whole week as a cleanse of some sort (I think). She was swearing by it as something to do. Felt off to me, but I'm not knowledgeable on this stuff.

You should check out Himalayan Tartary buckwheat. It has some of the highest quantities of polyphenols known. I use it for any recipes that call for flour. It makes great pancakes. Stuff is amazing for you. I like using coconut milk rather than Almond or Oat milk. Just seems to digest easier for me. But those pancakes sound delicious. We need a thread about recipes for eating healthy and clean. It is so hard to find people of a like mind that just want to eat delicious food that also is good for your body and brain.

I don't freeze it but I make protein banana pudding like that (I do add scoops of greek yogurt though) and keep it on standby all week, just throwing in a fresh banana and some whip when I dish it out.

I go through periods where I really watch what I eat. A few years ago I found this high protein ice cream that was actually good but I can’t find it anymore. I can’t remember the name but it’s It’s not Halo Top. Anybody?

Halo Top is still around, it's not bad.

We just got some of these whey good bars for our players. I tried the chocolate and it wasn't the worst thing I've had. The calories to protein ratio is MUCH better than say the Gatorade protein bars we usually have around.

No whey? Yes whey!
