Lmao, dominate?? You’re running a mediocre QB behind a shit o line against what will end up being a top 3 defensive line in the country, against one of the best defensive minded coaches in the country.

You’re D line is full of undersized white catholic kids that you guys are always obsessed with, but always end up getting pummeled when they play big boys. You talk about A&M having street cred despite the fact that your program is annually ranked in the top 10 despite getting ass raped every year by legitimate talent, catholic priest style.
You seem nice. Too bad you won’t be on this board much longer. 🙄

They do have more quality options, but would be a loss for them nonetheless.

It’s funny because ND’s DL is eight black dudes, a Samoan, and two of the three white boys (Mills & Burnham), are the athletic “freaks” of the DL along with Young.

And ND’s OL isn’t the usual top 3 unit, but they aren’t garbage. LOL
They are still infinitely better than A&M’s OL.
A&M sites have referred to their OL last year as a “dumpster fire.”
ND’s DL vs A&M’s OL is WAY better of an advantage for ND than A&M’s DL vs ND’s OL.

And calling Leonard a below average QB?
Kid had better stats in 2022 when healthy than Jalen Milroe did last year. And Leonard has actually beat ranked teams. What has Wegman done?

And talking about ND getting beat in the playoffs is hilarious, because you have to be there to be able to even lose. All the year’s ND was in the BCS title game/CFP, they were infinitely more likely to when the title than all the other teams combined who weren’t there.

A&M’s actual nickname in both the Big12 & SEC was Texas 8&4.

Then why are we dogs? Genuine question.

We had become a pick-‘‘em before Jagusah got hurt.
That’s really common in the off-season.
Happens to ND a lot.
Start as dogs & move to pick-‘em & then become the favorite by kickoff.

If Jagusah didn’t get hurt, it would have did what it was already doing, +3.5 then + 2.5, then +1, then pick-‘em, then -1, then -1.5 by kickoff.
I think it will still work it’s way back to pick-em by kickoff if no more ND injuries, even -1.

He was set to be their starter, correct? This seems significant.
Yeah, he is good, but they had multiple good backs. This isn't as significant as if they had suffered any injury at other positions. Honestly, this probably hurts them less than if it had happened at any other position.

I think, in a game that should be hot as hell, this could have a decent impact.

He was their backup not a big loss
He was their starter.

The A&M sites put out a depth chart each week based on practices, scrimmages & talking to coaches.

Owens & Moss were the two backs with the 1st team, with Owens starting every time.
Daniels & Smith are more gadget backs.

A&M fans will spin it as he wasn’t good, but their mods have stated he was the starter in both scrimmages & was going to start against ND according to their sources.

Officially going to the game with the family. Anyone know what hotel the team is staying in? Probably sold out at this point.

Any other ND friendly hotels in the area?

Yeah, the Owens loss is pretty big. Yes, they have other good backs, but Owens was the guy with probably the biggest upside and was making the most noise in the offseason. He was the top rated back in 2023, and he was the most complete back they had.

Not that they're SOL, but this isn't like us losing Payne, and that's all due respect to Payne.

Too late for any local hotels. Look at Waco, Austin, or northwest Houston.

I think it will boil down to turnovers. Elko is king of this. If we can take care of the football and let our defense be our defense, we should win. Turn the ball over and see ya bye.

People also need to realize the book makers who decide the lines aren’t really trying to say who will win or lose by any amount of points. They are literally just trying to get an even amount of bets on either side of the line.

I assume Clemson vs UGA is getting ESPN and Fox Sports there live as the Game of the Week, right?

Glad to see WVU and Penn St playing each other again.

Ga and Clemson should be a good one.

And the Irish get it done on the road.

Is he though? Elko is certainly a very good defensive coach, but this is where Elko's defenses ranked in terms of takeaways per game during his 5 seasons:

2023: 108th
2022: 8th
2021: 66th
2020: 68th
2019: 111th

Elko had 1 year where his defense forced a ton of turnovers. The rest, they were either average at doing it or they were among the worst at it. Again, not to take away from him, and I do agree that I think turnovers will likely determine this game. It does bode well that in year 2 under Golden, that ND improved from 103rd in takeaways in 2022 to 11th in 2023.

No idea where anyone is staying, but my gut is that you might have to search beyond College Station or maybe even beyond Bryan. It's Aggie Country all over there, but I've not heard a bunch of vitriol from Aggie fans about this game or the team. If you find yourself needing to make a bit of a drive for your hotel, consider Brenham. It's pretty quaint and is the home of Blue Bell ice cream.

Also for anyone flying into Houston for the game, Pete Sampson is trying to find a place to do either a live show or just an ND meetup (yes Matt Fortuna will be there too).
