You may be right, but it’s obviously rare. Some crazy circumstances with Ford and Carter was a disaster.
Oh no doubt. Made sense w/ Ford b/c they were coming out of Watergate & he was guilty by association

Carter lost re-election before he could campaign. The “malaise” had set in & Teddy decided to shoot his shot (no pun intended).

I may have told this story before, but it's worth repeating. Back in the '90s, my sister was a news producer for a CBS affiliate. Alabama had a senator named Howell Heflin who sounded like Foghorn Leghorn. He was a very ethical guy for a politician and smart as hell, but played the old school Southern Gentleman role to a T.

Around that time, Kennedy got photographed with a telephoto lens having sex on the deck of a sailboat a couple of miles offshore. Heflin reportedly said of it, "I see that my esteemed colleague from Massachusetts has changed his position on offshore drilling." A couple of years later my sister was covering an event where he spoke and asked him if he'd really said it. He replied in that Foghorn Leghorn voice, "Now is not the time! Theh's LADIES present!" LOL

Biden canceled his meeting with Netanyahu tomorrow for “health reasons” and Kamala is refusing to meet with him.

Off to a hot start courting those moderate PA and Michigan voters.
I think you’re underestimating how many people including large numbers of Israelis and or American Jews hate this guy.

He’s constantly getting trashed in Haaretz.

I'm super curious about his health. Something seems weird here. The last 10 days have been weird in general. Idk... maybe I'm losing my mind

Anyone else remember Ford was regularly hitting his head on everything?

Funny how he happened to come down with COVID when he says he's dropping out? I don't think he's sick. I think his handlers were afraid that he couldn't adequately handle all of the questions on why he changed his mind. Get him out of the public eye and let the Harris announcement replace him quitting in the news cycle.

Wouldn't surprise me as well. It also wouldn't be surprising if he actually had COVID despite having 25 boosters.

I remember Howard Heflin. Moreso, I remember Chris Farley playing Howard Heflin on SNL. You’re right…he was Foghorn Leghorn.

As Denis Leary said about Ted Kennedy: “great senator. Bad date”

Again, I remember SNL parodying Ford falling down & hitting his head when Chevy Chase played him.

Only guy to serve as VP & POTUS w/o being elected

I love the Media narrative of "See, we aren't biased! We pushed hard on Biden to drop out!" which only happened after the debate when they, and the DNC, realized they had negative chance of winning. I predict that as the polls show how unlikable Kamala is and how poorly she matches up with Trump, they will stop dick riding her and start pushing for an open convention.

They are in a tough spot. Harris isn’t likable and Biden put her in a tough spot from the jump basically advertising her as a token pick for VP. She has proven to be worthless and sadly that’s sort of not 100% on her because lately that’s where politicians go to kill their career. Can you really go past the next in line in Kamala, the first black women to be VP and that many are already saying is the first black woman to be the democratic “nominee” for President of the US? They for sure couldn’t replace her with a white person, the demo would be pissed and you can’t replace her with a man because the feminists would be pissed. I think they are stuck with Kamala, I think the kicker is who they make her choose for VP.

I think it would be a huge mistake for Trump, Vance or anyone closely connected to the campaign to verbally refer to Kamala as the DEI candidate or state that the only reason she was selected to be VP for Biden was DEI. I would avoid stirring up that hornet's nest unless Trump wants to give back some of the support from the black community that he's been working so hard to get.

My wife thinks it will go to the convention and a floor vote will see a ticket of Hillary/Newsom.

Agree. I don't think we'll see Trump do that. He pretty much let Joe hang himself in the debate and I think they'll use the same strategy with Harris.

Sure but she is and the Democrats know it. It’s their mess that Trump has no business stepping into… but it’s Trump. Whatever happens I don’t think the dog and pony show is over.

Trump should just sit back and let them keep supporting Kamala until the convention is over. DO NOT give them a reason to drop her and nominate anyone else. She's an unqualified nitwit who will be easy to beat in November. Give them no reason to remove her until it's too late.

Which is sort of a shame that the entire media complex is working overdrive to shame making this point publicly, but undeniably she is bad at her job and only was nominated to be VP and selected by the DNC media industrial complex because of DEI. It's sort of weird that they can claim DEI is a great thing and then get upset when we say she is a DEI pick. Luckily her own record and words should disqualify her on their own, but I do think America is dumb enough to elect her to be the president

I think Dem candidates for president pick VPs with their life on their mind. Obama picked Biden b/c no matter how much you hated Obama, Biden was infinitely worse. Same reason Joe picked Harris. One week ago both sides were wringing their hands on invoking the 25th Amendment, not because of Biden's condition but b/c that would make Kamala president. All the superfan Kamala shit is transparent AF.

Obama had a pretty liberal record (what little of it there was) - her voting record won't matter. She can also deflect by saying she was representing CA and now she has to represent the entire US.

True, but a lot of the braindead insane shit she said was on the trail for the 2020 primary

Biden just playing games at this point. Trying to hang on to power and as about as convincing as SS Director's testimony before Congress.

Not willing to admit the obvious out of fear that he will be removed from office.
