This is happening awfully quick. That would be my concern here. But if you like a kid and he wants to commit you take it. and worry about the trips later, if they're are any.
Could be wrong, but wasn’t he just offered? Think committing right after being offered shows he knows where he wants to be.

He was good and reliable but never was flashy or big time. Yes I 100% you need a reliable WR.

We need to develop these young guys better. Hopefully Mike can do that.
I will never forget the Golson to Brown bomb after Oklahoma tied it up in 2012. One of the most clutch plays I have ever seen by a guy who had limited reps to that point.

This sounds stupid in retrospect, but in the moment, I remember yelling and jumping up and down and telling my buddy, “holy shit, we really are back!” after that play specifically.

It felt like a heavyweight, national-champion style answer against a primetime opponent. You had a young, mobile QB with a canon for an arm, hitting a frosh WR that (at the time compared to the rest of the roster) had elite speed.

It felt like three years of firepower and the fabled BK spread with 45ppg was finally on the horizon…

And then K State laid an egg.

Just watched his film and was pleasantly surprised. I like this take a lot. With him and Meadows I wouldn't take Bettis as a WR but I understand why they might.

This is the best looking "3 star" WR we've taken in recent memory, off the top of my head.

My first ND game was against MSU 20+ years ago and Plaxico tore us up. Kind of a cool seeing this come full circle or however you want to put it.

Who remembers the MSU / ND game where Holiday gets hurt and Plax made two unbelievable TDs in the back of the end zone, especially the last one to take the lead.

Either Matt Lovechieo or Patt Dillingham comes in for injured Holiday and throws that crossing route to Arnaz Battle for the 70+ yard winning TD.

What a game.

The next day I’m with my family at the old church on campus for a baptism and Carlyle comes strolling through in a sling. My entire family of 30-40 bombard him and one of my uncles gave him a cupcake, which I have a picture of to this day. His smirks holding that cupcake on a paper plate makes me laugh.

edit: dang that was actually Charles Rogers (RIP) and NOT Plax.

I was at that game in the upper back corner making the trip from South Bend. It was Dillingham..I was right next to the AB C cameraman at top of bleachers chatting it up and he was like Holy Shit...

Chris Brown was also a state champion sprinter/jumper like Plaxico, different type of athlete.

We've seen these legacy guys like Howard Cross surpass all expectations and become next level guys. The staff knows what they are doing. I don't know if it's good genes or their dads showing them the level of preparation needed for success or what, but I'm all about the legacy guys.

Think most of these kids have been taught since they were little so they are ahead of the game in some instances as long as their athletic enough to compete.

Watching Elijah’s tape last night he looks like a super smooth route runner. A lot of freshman struggle right away with route running so maybe this is a stepping stone that the staff views as worthy?

Im excited for him either way & hope he suits up in the gold helmet.

His film is that of one of those lower tier state schools who one year have an offense no one can stop and 3 WRs who just can't be covered all game. I won't be suprised at all if he's the best WR in this class.

Level of preparation definitely goes along way! These guys get to spend day and night preparing their kids for the next level and have the sources to accompany them. The genes help, but those come from both parents and might work against them at times.

Hope he’s better with firearm safety than his father!

In all seriousness, seems like a solid talent! Hope he is successful for our Irish!

Everyone's giving him the biz about this tweet but I don't see what the dilly is? This is an easy stand up double to the gap even for Tosh Baker.
