I just don’t get it?
If you don’t like him personally, that’s fine.
If you don’t like his attitude, I get it.
But you obviously like his intel & film breakdown.
So why pay for it, use it in your own arguments, then turn around & bash it?
I can separate the two. I can deal with a genius doctor who fixes me, but with bad bedside manner. LOL
And for people who haven’t realized it yet, Prister, O’Malley & Driskell are all really close & good friends, who hang out together at the games & practices.
Did...did you just use "brilliant doctor with bad bedside manner" as a metaphor to describe Driskell? Wild. More like mouth-breathing basement dweller with DSL access to WebMD.

This smacks of Driskell. Reveal yourself!

Roberts was a workhorse at IB and had very good analysis and Intel. I just don't see Shaun Davis, who appears to be taking over that role, working as hard as Roberts did to get Intel and he definitely is not as good at film analysis. Driskell took a big hit on this one.

off topic but my favourite Driskell tweets are when he talks about how he does active shooter simulations in his home so he can practice how best to kill people in his own sitting room

This is smart, my family practices things like this. Home invasion, fire drills, what to do in a tornado. I know you are poking fun, but being prepared isn't funny...it's smart.

Oh most definitely

This makes IB a nonentity again for me

Davis strikes me more as an editorial type, so he's pretty redundant to all the others on that pod

Roberts at least brought some well informed facts/objectivity to the table

The thought of listening to three hours of shallow pontifications coming from Davis now under the guise of a more facts based topic such as recruiting/scouting--plus listening to Vince being Driskells personal Flavor Fla the whole time....yikes

I mean I look at Duece, and yes he has all the physical measurables/tools. But what I really want to know--does this guy have the heart? When it's the 4th quarter against USC and ND is down 7, is Duece going to be That Dude that says 'Alright, fellas, I got this. You can ride with me to the promised land' That to me is more important than what his 40 time is or if he can throw the ball 60 yards. That's the stuff that really matters when you're evaluating a high school quarterback. And that's why even if they miss out on Duece--I'm not sweating it because in the next cycle they have a good shot at (insert Chicago area 3-star player name even if he's not a qb--doesn't matter) and I'm telling you, from what I'm hearing--this kid is going to be A Dude!!!

Yes, but are you practicing how to escape and evade or how to kill people. I feel like that is a distinction matters. Also, if have a sneaking suspicion that Driskell’s simulations are a fair bit more cinematic than the drills you put your family through. I see laser-cats when I picture BD setting the scene.

If someone breaks into my house, they are going to die. Does that answer your question?

No, it simply spawns many more.

I've grown up with guns my whole life. Shotguns, rifles, pistols and the odd assault rifle that would show up with a cousin or uncle. My family has a small shooting range for practice. Many are avid hunters (I am not). I'm sure others have more experience than I.

What is the intent of your statement? Do you want to convince yourself that you have more control in a world of unpredictability?

A home invasion has a lot of potential outcomes but some of the most defining elements are:
  • Was the invasion planned?
  • Are there multiple invaders?
  • What are the primary goals of the invasion?
  • Are they of sound mind? Drunken stupor? Racing on meth?
  • How soundly are you sleeping, what were the preceding 48 hrs like?
I think most of us, if confronted with an invasion, would like to neutralize the threat with a clean, smooth trigger pull. What if the people who break into your house are ex-Special Forces? Paramilitary? Cannibalistic cult hellbent on ending a week-long fast?

Maybe my post is 20% tongue in cheek. But be careful in assuming too much. Shit goes sideways in a hurry.

Welcome to ND recruiting.
That was before the recruiting expert decided to shut things down for 3 weeks, while open recruiting was still open, and send everyone on vacation.
And people mocked me for calling him out on it.
Know who was still recruiting those 3 weeks…?
