Hines and Meadows should've been Top 3 in pecking order to begin with, this year's WR recruiting had been all over the map and they took some guys waaaaay to early.

Not sure how pecking order applies here, but Hines was offered in December. He was one of Brown's first offers when he took the job. If you feel he should have been offered sooner, then that's on Chansi Stuckey, not Mike Brown. But, since being offered, Brown has been working hard on Hines.

Unconfirmed reports from some posters at II he was at Mizzou over the weekend.

If that’s the case, I will be pretty disappointed as I like his tape, but gotta think this may be a processing casualty with how the numbers are looking at that position.
That’s where I’m at

I'd rather process Bettis or Burress. Terry is better than his rating, IMO.

Keep in mind Bettis has position flexibility, he also does well at the safety position. We don’t really know the staff’s plan for him at this point.

I looked at his profile yesterday and thought about bumping it for any updates.

And then I said to myself, this ain't happening.

I can’t believe Al Washington would do this.

U don’t process Bettis he’s a legends son. U guys are high.
Right? I don’t see it with him, but his dad has been a tremendous ambassador and the program owns him a solid. They can recruit over him if he doesn’t improve.

if he goes, do we still take 5? Hines, Meadows, and Boggs (with Bettis and Burress)

So now we know that Terry is being processed? Can someone point me to an article?

Lets just like...ask Bettis to move to Walk On status, and give his dad the Friends and Family discount. Like...deep, deep discount.
You've got to take him, and he's pretty much a lock to stay, right? Let them all come, someone will probably transfer out. Let them sort it themselves.

Terry is a kid with offers from Oregon, USC, Michigan, PSU, Auburn, Ole Miss. He deserves to be in the class.

IMO they felt like they essentially had to offer Bettis jr. and Even tho i like him as a player, idk if you should have taken Burress as early as they Do. But I can’t imagine they push out a prominent NFL players son like him.

Meadows
Hines
Terry
Burress

Would be a talented, athletic class. My hope is that Bettis moves to safety after he gets on campus as he has good size and ball skills that hypothetically could translate there.

This here. Processing Terry to make room for Bettis doesn't make sense. There is always room. And Bettis has some positional flexibility.

Speculation given how hard ND continues to recruit the position. He could just be genuinely interested in Mizzou as they have one of the best NIL programs in the country, a top QB committed, great offense etc. Genuinely hope that’s not the case and he remains in the class.

For the record, no publication has come out with any information on this yet to my knowledge. This is pure message board chatter.

I guess it’s just as fair to speculate that we knew Terry wasn’t going to stick and thus we took Bettis.

In the days of NIL money, guys like Bettis with a real tie to the university are an asset. At the very least the coaches get to sleep easier at night.

I agree with this. Especially when you have issues with numbers going forward in the WR room.

Although they have numbers now, by the time these kids make it on campus, there is going to have been alot of turnover.

There lies the problem, how does a school like ND have problems at such a key and "marquee" position? Especially with that QB room

The last two WR classes have been great, despite the transfers.

There has been a new WR coach since last December. You can critique why he stopped recruiting, or didnt recruit hard enough certain players, or didnt like others like Daylan McCutcheon, Cooper Perry, among others.

But, he's going hard after Boggs, Hines & Meadows. They took some guys early that perhaps they could have waited on, but it appears now we know Brown's top targets. Now, he needs to close on them.

I agree 100%, and yes alot of that lies on Stuckey's head for his early recruiting. Pecking order applies simply by making the more talented prospects first priority instead of liker commits but far less polished prospects.

Well it certainly wasn’t Jerome Bettis’ son who was gonna get pushed out. And it probably isn’t gonna be Plaxico’s either.
Exactly what I was getting at ALLL along but ppl didn't seem to understand.

A good player, but ND will sign better all-around WRs.

They still want to take five. So I’m assuming they feel that they don’t want to turn away someone, whether it’s Hines, or Hall, or Robinson due to numbers. To make that decision, they likely had to push Terry out of the class
But also lesser ones. If indeed this was a processing, I'm not a fan.
