Exactly what I was getting at ALLL along but ppl didn't seem to understand.

Makes sense push out the best WR commit? Only at ND🤦🤷
You bitch and moan about the three commits in our WR room for months and then you bitch and moan that we are loosing one to make you for a better WR target. Don't understand it

People were complaining about our wr commits as a whole but specifically two, those two are still committed
Getting hall is probably an upgrade over Terry, but it would be a huge upgrade over bettis as an example

We winning championships or winning the celebrity sideline game?

I like hall Hines and meadows so the wr class still has a chance to be good imo

We get it. You don’t like Bettis Jr.

However, the point you continue miss is that he is a guy who will be in the program all the years they want him. His dad being in the nil space for those years can’t hurt. The kid had offers from A&M, who some are concerned about playing this year and Louisville, who kicked our ass last year. Maybe he doesn’t need to be the greatest wr in the history of football, but by all accounts he is a great kid who was worthy of high P4 offers. I am not sure if you can’t help yourself to take a potshot at the kid every chance you get.

I like Bettis more now that Terry is out. Terry in brought down the ceiling. Now WRs 1-4 will be better

Agree. Also, managing a program is more than just managing a roster. The negativity that could spew from not securing Bettis is not worth the risk. We are not talking about Bruce Heggie here.

Even if Bettis Jr was a crappy backup kicker, I wouldn't mind offering him a scholarship if he wanted to come to ND. If you don't understand why, then you just don't understand the importance of politics/optics. He's not gonna make or break the team, but snubbing him and his family would be such a dumb move. Bettis Sr is an all-time great who's still a big presence around the university and a great representative for us

He lied to the staff, then lied about lying.
He tried to make up with them, but he burned that bridge already.
They were recruiting over him & he knew it, so he decommitted.
Your last sentence is the only accurate one

I get all that and agree, but why is he going to be taking one of the 85. That’s the issue.

Have him come in and if he can contribute put him in a scholly

247 and Rivals both have Burress ahead of Terry.

And Jamie at ISD had Burress as a 4-star (90) and Terry as a 3-star (88).
Not quite sure how long ago that was because both are considerably bigger than those listed weights, and Terry is rated higher on Rivals. 247 does have Burress rated higher at 564 and Terry in the 600s while Bettis was down at 767!!!😳😳 Crazy to think a school of our stature is even looking at guys outside the top 50 of their positions let alone Nationally ranked guys down in the 500+ range.

Actually with Putup on this one...

I'd push back a bit on Canada's assertion they he's strictly a slot. He's probably around Faison's size and Denbrock has mentioned him getting reps at field. Slot sized kids can be utilized a lot easier since Denbrock utilizes so much motion.

Not to mention he's a plus talent as a return man. Seemed like AA potential as a PR.

Now go out and land three from Meadows, Robinson, Hines and Taylor and I'm good... but Terry's film was better that Buress, imo.
Agreed, Terry was by FAR the best WR commit, the most versatile on offense and the most productive player. Burress had 25/434/17.4/5 TD last year and looks to be slightly above avg on film. JBJ had even less production at 30/369/12.3/4 TD and has less impressive film despite being around 6'3 and 195lbs.

Say what, I haven't said anything about our "3" commits, just the "2" that aren't ND level players. You can have the IQ of a rock an understand the best one is the least expendable, since he's the only prospect that has shown to be a playmaker thus far.

Now you can go face the wall and STFU

No need to explain the obvious to individuals who can't walk and chew gum at the same time. It's been pretty much the consensus on every forum, not everyone's comprehension is up to par.

He visited Mizz and lied to the staff if you aren’t loyal then staff is gonna look around end of story
Great post, I agree with this 100%. I don't like kids visiting elsewhere when they are committed, but lying is worse.

I heard this too. Once he got caught lying the staff went on to the next target. That’s why he got pushed out.

I’m sure the staff shows some leeway towards higher ranked recruits aka Peyton Bowmen but they aren’t gonna let a low 4 star high 3 star lie and flirt around

The Ohio WR who recently backed off his commitment to Notre Dame got offered by Nebraska today.

Or at least that's how it was worded.

Meadows isn’t coming.
Don’t get your hopes up. Neither is Taylor.
Realistically, ND is looking at Hall, Robinson & Hines. Need at least 2 of those.
This is my estimation as well. Meadows was like Shanklin in that we were leader until other pretty girls showed up at the ball. Maybe we were the bait to get the attention they really wanted. But I do appreciate this staff taking their shot.

Nebraska is trying w/NIL, the state government is supportive and passed a law to let the school be involved with it. The below bill went through in April. Also, getting a quick lesson on the way Nebraska's state government works was interesting.

Do you really think it’s crazy that ND offered two kids with NFL bloodlines in the NIL era, one of which is a school legend, or are you just wording it that way to be a dick

Crazy to LOOK outside the Top 50? Yes
To bring in Bettis' son? No
Bring both Bettis/Burress in the class? Nuts

NIL shouldn't have anything to do with those guys individually so not sure that's even relevant. NFL bloodlines is cool but these days does it really move the needle? (especially if the looked mediocre at the Prep level??

Not clear what NIL has to do with it?
