Riley may be the best QB hitting the portal and when healthy is good enough with a supporting cast. The lack of proven WRs may hurt the Irish’s chances but Auburn doesn’t have any WRs either.

I remember thinking Bo Nix to Oregon wasn’t exciting, but I was wrong. Not saying RL is about to match what Nix is doing, but more that it’s hard to project. Even if he is mediocre, he still likely gives us a better shot in College Station, which is likely our hardest game next year.

I agree with this. I watched a fair amount of Nix at Auburn and he didn’t flash. Figured he was a legacy that got a little more hype due to his pop but it’s obvious now that he was being held back at Auburn. Maybe wrong system. Definitely facing weaker defenses.

He's the ideal qb to run a ton of RPO with. Imagine him triggering a backfield with Price and Love, with the option to hand it to one, or pull it.
Imo, he'll hit some wide open receivers with defenses keying the run.
