I doubt this is Freeman's call.Losing Nana & Tyree makes this roster weaker.
Tyree moved to receiver this year, a planned two year move, & was ND’s best deep threat during the season in the first year.
I wanted him back.
Great kid & dependable.
I’m not liking roster management by Freeman Day 1 of this cycle.
It’s a common attitude to look on the bright side, but some people on this board do it a little too much.I realize at this point and time there is a lot of excitement around the young guys. I share some of that as well. Will there be that same excitement when they have to play in College Station to open next season? We'll see. Rico fell apart when they tried to feature him at Louisville. Greathouse was a mess when they tried to feature him at Clemson.
We're a 9-3 team that's going to play in the who gives a fuck bowl game for the second consecutive season. Losing our most productive WR does not seem like a good idea.
Kinda wild to do before the bowl, but I guess it’s inevitable with portal opening on the 4th?
No.I have to agree.
Right now, he might be the 4th best actually. Thomas, if healthy, then Faison and Greathouse.
ND ironically has a logjam at slot receiver, while having terrible numbers overall at receiver.
Jack deserves plenty of blame, too. He bent over backwards to make sure they re-signed with Under Armour but didn't do what was required to bring in a quality OC. If only his son played football for ND.Parker (and MF not addressing it) is the gift that keeps on giving.
I completely understand it from his perspective. No ill will towards him, at all.I don't disagree with you, but taking a step back, he was probably told that ND is taking 1 or 2 GTs at receiver which means they are at best going to take reps/targets from him and at worst possibly start over him. Combine that with the younger guys developing the way they are, that's not a business decision that a guy with his degree should take.
Not in a million years, heck never in my lifetime would I ever hear this phrase uttered as it relates to NDGreat dude. Nothing but the best.
Not a surprise really, the slot is crowded AF.
Ehh Tyree was taking reps away from Greathouse and Faison both better receiversLosing Nana & Tyree makes this roster weaker.

I think when the WR dust settles, people will move towards very OK with this.
Warrior? I love Tyree but I dont think I use that phrase on a guy that would get tackled if you blew on him. He put forth the effort and from all reports was a great teammate, but I would not think of the word warrior when describing him.Kid was a warrior for this program and there is no way the team is better without him. I hope he balls out and carves a nice career on Sundays. I remember how excited I was watching him hit the corner against Bama a few years back. Well done Chris.
It's a shame we're losing our best receiver. He had the most receptions after Evans, the most yards of anyone, and the highest average after Tobias (Who had half the receptions and 2/5 of the yards). Would like to see if Greathouse can play on the outside and/or Faison, but both should thrive and get more reps with Tyree gone.Great dude. Nothing but the best.

Really? How backward did he bend? The reason we resigned with them wasn't the massive contract offered but because his son needed a job? He was so desperate to keep his son's job at UA that he forced the deal with UA?Jack deserves plenty of blame, too. He bent over backwards to make sure they re-signed with Under Armour but didn't do what was required to bring in a quality OC. If only his son played football for ND.
Faison was already splitting reps with Tyree at slot. Faison is still a true freshman and he just has more versatility. He's already a better route runner than Tyree, and he'll only get better. He's also shiftier. And he's going to get better. Tyree is that awkward combination of top-flight straight line speed, but not particularly a "win in the phone booth" guy. But he lacks the length to really do much outside of slot.No.
I would take Tyree as a Starter at A&M.
And if not a starter, 2nd string.
You play 6-8 receivers in a game during a full season, 6 of them on legitimate snaps.
Tyree is definitely top 6.
And people keep saying, “if healthy” talking about other WRs.
That’s the problem, they are never healthy.
Losing a guy like Tyree from the WR rotation hurts. You need 6-8 dependable, healthy guys.
