The only way it makes sense is if UM is willing to give him more than $10 million per year guaranteed for the next 8 years. He has no risk to the downside at LSU as long as he doesn't do something so stupid as to get fired with cause. And as much as I dislike BK, even he isn't that dumb.

I get ND fans’ hatred of Michigan but this whole thing smells bad. Most NCAA investigations take years. The BIG basically came out and suspended Harbaugh with no evidence he had anything to do with it and without any type of due process. Mean while they had mountains of evidence of wrong doing at other institutions, North Carolina to name just one, and they get nothing.

NCAA has new leadership and this is the first major case. Assuming this is the new standard, then timing is everything. If the NCAA goes right back to taking their sweet time then, yeah, something will be up at that point.

B1G investigations and NCAA investigations are different things, and the B1G office had the entire rest of the conference in their ear about the need for meaningful punishment this season. Really different situation than UNC, or most NCAA investigations.

Why would anyone care about Harbaugh getting suspended outside of Michigan?

Also, the Big Ten suspended him, not the NCAA, which means your comment about UNC has nothing to do with it. The NCAA still hasn't done shit to Michigan and a 3 game suspension is a fucking slap on the wrist of someone running a program that had this level of spying going on. Not to mention, the NCAA's evidence collecting and investigation started several months ago now.
