Does Freeman have the authority to fire/demote him? What kind of 'control' does he actual have?
There is no way in hell Freeman does not have the authority to make a change. I refuse to believe otherwise.

EDIT: The real question, IMO, is whether or not he has the backing of his AD and admin to make the correct subsequent hire(s). Whether or not you believe Ludwig would have been the answer (HINT: he woulda been A LOT better than Parker), the fact that it went down like it did is a colossal black mark on the program.

My hope is that Swarbrick's final act as ND's AD is to right the wrong of that OC search this offseason.

I just don't think that dude gives a f**k right now. He has one foot out the door and the other worried about setting his kids up for life with bullshit UA and NBC contracts. I kind of hate that he'll likely be involved in this OC situation again before he exits.

Just watched a Charlie jr presser. Woof, take about a quick transition to a thick southern accent.

The best accent of them all, not to mention no different than Parker.

I don't care if someone speaks Hebrew as long as they can recruit and field an offense that moves the ball.

The unfortunate thing is many think Parker could’ve been one hell of a good tight end coach for us. Now we will lose a good TE coach bc we were too cheap to hire the guys all the fans wanted at OC, wasted Hartman, wasted Al Golden’s pretty special defense, and missed the playoff and NY6.

I doubt it happens, but I'd prefer a simple demotion back to TE Coach for Parker. Freeman and Parker are friends. Just be honest..."Hey this didn't work out, but I still need/want you on my staff as TE Coach." Float the option and let Parker do with it as he sees fit. It's possible he's willing to do that. The guy seems like a great fit at ND, just not as OC.

Would they even be allowed to bring in another coach if they demote Parker and every coach on staff returns? Isn't there a limit?

Correct, next year someone would have to go if you keep parker and bring in an outside OC. Most likely Gino as most OCs are also QB coaches.

Found some OC's elsewhere who have experience coaching TE's.

Casey Woods (SMU)
Slade Nagle (Tulane)
Joe Craddock (Troy)
Buster Faulkner (GT)

Come on guys. This needs to happen today! If freeman is as sentimental and supportive of his buddy as Lincoln Riley was of Grinch Freeman will be out the same time as Porker. Guy will basically cost him his job. Btw how would we have faired if Caleb could get into ND? Regardless of OC we’d be champs instead of chumps.

If you hire a top experienced OC, he’s not likely coming alone. He’s bringing at least a couple assistants that he trusts and values.

I'm hoping so. I think the offense needs a serious reset. Likely gonna lose DMC to opportunity. I'd be fine with replacing the rest.

The shakeup is inevitable; it be like BK in 2016... Clean house (may end being a default house cleaning by coach turnover)

I’d like to know why parts of our offensive playbook have simply disappeared after the first few weeks.

There’s either something going on being closed doors we’re unaware of or there is straight up negligence/malpractice going on in the offensive room. Neither makes me feel good at the moment.

The health of the WR probably has a lot to do with it. Then you throw in Evans being injured this past weekend on top of that.

But you are correct. I'd have to count the actual touches but it sure feels like Love and Price have disappeared as well.

II podcast theorized that Parker is running the offense MF wants to see run rather than the one Parker himself wants to run. Basically MF's inert conservatism is overriding everything on that side of the ball
