watching the New Orleans/Houston pre-season game. Foskey (NO) gets an early sack, and on the play the only opposing lineman who was stuffing his DLineman was Jarrett Patterson (Hou) . Patterson has basically stuffed his opponent every play but one --- REALLY looks good. Jaylon Smith (NO) getting some time on D, and one of my old favorite OLinemen Tommy Kraemer (NO) in at Right Guard and still overpowering his DLine player. Foskey and Patterson should start, and Jaylon in on special situations. Tommy looks to be the back-up at RG and can play several spots. Patterson was calling the OLine signals. Fight on Old Warriors.

Great post and good to hear that Patterson is doing well, but

There's a difference between fight on and "FIGHT ON!"
.. whole damm English language is being co-opted ...
but, maybe a joke. I wrote that science might have a final solution to some mystery the other day, and somebody complained.
Mighty queer response ... whoops, sorry. My retarded sense of English ... whoops, did it again.

Jaylon Smith and Kraemer both released today, along with Troy Pride.

I saw Alize Mack was cut with an injury designation by the Titans. The amazing thing mentioned in the article was he has yet to appear in a regular season NFL game.

Some rumblings that Jaylon gets resigned by the Saints tomorrow when they potentially place a couple of guys on injured reserve.

The article stated 2019. Long time to be hanging around and to have never played in an actual game.

Proof that it's better to be a great athlete and a mediocre football player than vice versa in the NFL. You can get paid based on your potential for quite a long time.

Khalid Kareem not latching on somewhere is surprising to me.

He had a decent start with the Bengals, was a good multi-purpose depth piece/sub for their first unit on the d-line... couldn't seem to keep his ankles or shoulders healthy, though, which is probably why he's been on the move.

the practice squad being no longer the preserve of 2 years and under vets is keeping a bunch of dudes around the league who historically would have been disregarded

Who would have picked Skowronwek over Austin to make a good go of it,?
Sko always had heart and the right mindset. He didn't have the athleticism Austin had, but he learned how to do the little things the right way.
