Was anyone else at the hurricane game in Raleigh last time when BK decided to throw it? Great time.

I know at least one other poster mentioned they were at that game, but don't remember the name.

Me & a buddy bought NC St season tickets to get the ND tix (that was the cheapest way to do it). We sold all the other tickets w/ the help of my sister-in-law. Then at the last minute, we decided not to go to Raleigh and sold those as well. Thank goodness. What a shit show that ended up encapsulating the entire season.

Yes I was. The experience was awful. NC State didn’t even feel like a real campus. They just have buildings randomly placed throughout Raleigh. Besides driving to Louisville in 2019, the NC State game has pretty much ruined any future away games for me.

Anybody know of what the parking/tailgating scene is like at Carter-Finley? Headed there next weekend, trying to figure out the pregame

I'm weirdly not nervous except for a suspicion (that will last all year) that the ACC has had enough of our winning streak and will take steps to end it.

I feel confident about this game. I really think the coaching staff and team learned from Marshall and Stanford last year.

North Carolina State is not Navy or Tennessee State. Expect them to move safeties up and play press coverage, challenging ND to get separation against their DBs that are twice the athletes of Navy and TSU. Both Navy and TSU needed to blitz to attempt to disrupt ND, and Hartman obliterated defense every time. NCST probably won't have to do that.

I'd say -8 is fair. Something like 28-20. But I also think ND's LBs and DBs are playing better than they have in years (again, against weak competition) so I could see NCST getting shut down and ND winning by 20+.

So NC State looks very challenged versus Uconn, 10-7 at half and beats Uconn just 24-14 and you really think -8 ND is fair? Sure Jan.

NC State is solid. Usually tough on the front seven and their QB has played a lot of football. Don’t love a noon start on the road. But yeah we should win this game by multi scores.

I agree on the start time. I would rather have the later time. But between Sneed and kiser they should be able to keep the QB from gaining to much ground. Our DB’s have yet to be tested but I think they will be ready and help the front 7.

And NCST gave up like 5.5 yards per carry against UConn. The are in for a rude awakening against this group.

Every game is different. Remember when ND almost lost to Toledo, Ball State, etc?

The play is ND moneyline. The line of -8 is ripe for backdoor cover.

I have a feeling this will be the game that one of our newbies breaks out on offense (Price, Love, etc.) NC St will do everything to not have Estime or Hartman beat them. Don't know that it matters, but I could see others step up bigtime in this one.

Stadium is right next to the Hurricanes’ NHL arena. Parking lots mostly. Campus is pretty spread out and about 15 minutes from downtown Raleigh.

They can try, but if they couldn't stop UConn from running on them, that doesn't bode well for their chances against this unit.

No idea what we should expect. Boys fly to Ireland and smack an outmanned Navy team. Fly back, possibly jetlagged/uninspired and beat up a really poor FCS team. Now they will play a real team that can win if they play poorly. I'd love to see the OL/DL have success, that would be the biggest indicator for the rest of the season.

I don't know. Maybe NC State has a stout defense - sometimes they do - but I have a hard time seeing them able to account for all of the things we appear able to do on offense. And while Brennan Armstrong is dangerous, if they only put up 24 on UConn I kind of doubt they have the firepower to beat us in a shootout.
If we lose, or even if it's close, it's because we played poorly on offense (which is possible).

Or defense. Or both. Or special teams.

This is why I'm saying, we have no idea what we have and neither does NC State. The 2nd-4th games say so much more about teams as they start to round into form and find out who they are as they run into obstacles. This is a great next step.

Sure. But we have some idea of what we have and so do they. We appear to have a balanced and dynamic offense, with some questions on D, particularly the front seven. They in recent years have tended to be stout on D, but pretty meh on offense. (last year they were 12th in the nation in points given up, but 94th in points scored. They didn't top 30 points against a P5 opponent.)

Given that history it feels unlikely they win a shootout. But they could certainly win a low-scoring game if we don't execute when we have the ball. Is all I'm saying.

Armstrong loved to use his legs against UCONN. This feels like a Liufau/Sneed kind of game

I just don't see how ND doesn't comfortably cover. Remember when their NFL Dline was going wreak havoc on us in 2017?
