Despite all the drama, I would take Peyton in a heartbeat. I really think if it was totally up to him, no NIL or anything, his heart is at ND. I think he knows ND is best for him, but then last second he made an impulsive, stupid decision that he now regrets. I think he regretted it that first night, and now especially does. And I think he now lays in bed and is having a conviction that he should be at ND. He's not dumb. He knows which one gives him the shot at the better life and will make him a better man.

I can't honestly fathom what the kid is thinking right now.

He's had it rough the past few months. Yeah, he kind of screwed himself with the whole hat debacle, but it was pretty clear his mom and dad were not on the same page at all with his recruitment. Then there was his sister's death, which had to have been brutal for the whole family. It wouldn't surprise me if he stays at OU simply to be around his folks in such a troubling time, and wouldn't blame him for a second if he did just that. All that on top of his GF leaving OU.
