Unrelated to today's good news, and maybe missed it earlier in the thread, but sounds like Cephas, one of the first names at WR, is now trending towards Pitt.

Haven't paid enough attention to know whether PSU took someone over him, or if he's not as highly-coveted in general as initially thought.
Thought I read somewhere that he had some transcript/grade issues and that was why he was trending Pitt

SIO NOFOAGATOTO FROM INDIANA DL has tons of experience starting on their DL 6'3 315 LBS would be an awesome depth piece at NT.
BRAYLON RYAN COASTAL CAROLINA DE 6'2 275 LBS
JAHEIM SINGLETARY GEORGIA former 5 star 6'2 170 lbs could be a safety was in the 2022 class.

Stick to tracking the twitter follows, it says more than speculation.

Washington did recently follow Jordan Domineck, an EDGE player out of Arkansas. Vyper body with 16.5 career sacks.

I do feel that ND is done until the spring, though.

yup if the staff are posting about them recruiting in IL and IN i would take it that they aren't expecting to be hosting any more portal guys any time soon

I don’t foresee an addition either, but the reason they are recruiting only local is so they can host visitors this weekend. 2024s and was supposed to be CJ Williams.

With the secrecy around some of these guys who knows though. JJB was a guessing game and Harper we didn’t know till he tweeted it.

That's a super random list. . But, after the Baptiste talk - I figured they were worth a look.

Indiana seemed down on him (despite the experience) - unless he was injured?
Sio Nofoagatoto’a started in 10 games this season, but he just did not seem right this season. He did not produce and underperformed. He totaled 18 tackles failing to record a sack.

Braylon Ryan was listed as a co-starter for the 111th ranked scoring defense in the nation - in his 3rd year. T-9th on his team in TFL, 8th in sacks, 19th in tackles. If he even makes it power 5 - you're my guy for all predictions. I think there was probably one good player for Cost. Car.'s D - he's going to Michigan already. His only other offer was from Campbell out of HS

JAHEIM SINGLETARY - would have to be the highest ranked CB for ND in the rankings "era" - so sure.

Per Greg Biggins, ND has reached out to Gary Bryant, Jr.

He has set up visits to Miami and A&M during the course of the weekend. Tried to make it out to Utah today, but was not able to.

Not sure how much we need to look into here.

Looks like he did visit Miami, but Gattis wasn't there - Sub plot here is that he may be on his way out there as OC/Receivers coach Rumors Swirling Around Miami Hurricanes Offensive Coordinator Josh Gattis

One of Stuckeys guys from Baylor in portal

Ellis is from Round Rock, Texas - same as Braylon James, and '24 commit Leonard Moore

He'd be a depth guy. He didn't do much during his time at Waco. Does he push the current group of guys that are already in the WR room? I don't believe so.

Someone asked II if they felt a WR would be a target in the portal. All three said probably not, but didn't rule it out. Sampson remembered a Stuckey quote from last year about needing ten WRs to contribute. If I counted correctly, they're at 9 (including Styles, Tyree, and Salerno). If Styles moves to DB and with Kaleb Smith (transfer) retiring, I wouldn't be shocked if the right WR popped up, they try to snag him. Not sure it's a priority though in the same way Safety is.

Edit: I forgot about Kaleb Smith (incoming Freshman). So they'd be at 10 with him and then it would depend on Styles' ultimate position.

No reason why Styles can't play both ways, maybe you get him 3-4 touches or plays a game on offense and let him focus the rest on defense.

This isn't happening. Styles is not getting 3-4 plays/game on offense then jumping on D. He's staying on one side of the ball and I'm guessing we'll know which one during the spring game.

Agreed. He's not good enough to start at one position let alone play two different ones. He is probably going to spend this year getting better at CB then maybe plays next year in hopes of getting drafted.

I wonder if this means Barnes to Safety. I am actually surprised they didn't move Zo to Safety, much less depth and quick route to the field. A move to CB, one has to wonder if he will see any PT.

I hope this means the staff feels really good about the young WRs. Because at first glance ND's most experienced receiver is moving from an area of roster weakness to one of relative strength.

So Styles is moving to CB and needs a year to see the fired, if ever? Is he all in on this? I guess I should listen to the presser.

Agreed. You’d think they almost have to be moving one of the CBs to safety and backfilling that spot with Styles.

It's been said that he was heavily recruited as a DB because that's where he has the most upside. But he preferred WR in college and ND was willing to give him that shot.

If he can develop in the secondary, the path to the NFL is via being a defensive back.
