No. He was told we were going to pursue a transfer quarterback and he was welcome to stay and compete. He felt he was above it so he took his ball and left. Hence spoiled bitch. But if that's too harsh and he genuinely believes he earned the right to be QB1 next season, perhaps delusional bitch is more appropriate?

You guys are all thinking way too hard and getting way too worked up about Pyne's decision.

Drew wants to be QB1, that's not guaranteed at ND. With the way he played this year, someone will give him that guarantee, hence he moves on.

Pretty simple business decision, and doesn't make the guy a bitch.

In fact, one might argue that an internet poster getting his jimmies rustled about a college kid's decision is the one acting bitch-like, but I wouldn't dare make that accusation about a fine member of IE.

Was nervous it would cite college football sources but instead it was betting odds, thankfully. Do we think Duggan goes to the NFL? Because of the COVID year, he has another year of eligibility
How much higher is his stock going to be? For my money, he's the actual player that everyone is hyping Caleb Williams to be. I think far more important and smarter football people than I am are seeing it. You'd think he won't fall down past the third round.

I don't know why he comes back for another year. He was 2019 recruiting class so he should go now and take what he can get money wise.

He's out. Won't elaborate too much but ND passed here for legitimate reasons.
Please elaborate! Other than the injury and foreign language requirements, what are the concerns (and what is the source)?

Would be a shame to pass on the #1 overall player in the portal per Rivals and ESPN.

To add to this, with guys like Penix already staying, it's a pretty light QB class so a guy like Duggan can really benefit if he comes out now and is near the top of the QB board for QB hungry franchise.

I'm not sure where you got that from. I subscribe to several sites and never heard that ND passed on him. Tom Loy said he is one of the two already in the portal that ND is interested in, the other being Card. He also mentioned a QB not yet in the portal (I presume it's Pratt). It would be interesting if you could elaborate. Thanks.
LAX has his own sources.

Right. You have Young and Stroud at the top of the pack. Stock down on Levis and Hooker blew his knee out a few weeks ago.

Duggan's stock is way up compared to when the season started.

The way Hummer stumbles over making sure to clarifying that DJ and Sanders don’t know where they are headed kind of indirectly implies maybe the other guys discussed like Card probably somewhat do IMO.

You're on a message board calling someone a bitch who will accomplish more taking a shit in the morning than you will in your entire life. There is only 1 bitch here and that is you sir.
Interesting take seeing as you know less than nothing about me, but even if what you say is true...it doesn't make my statements any less so.

Not worked up. At all. Just simply stating his response to the situation wasn't to honor his commitment to the team for the rest of the season, but to leave them in a bind. Anything less than him being told he wouldn't play in the bowl game makes him a bitch for doing so. That's my opinion and we're all entitled to our own, no? We can all agree to disagree; however, I will add that if he thinks he's guaranteed QB1 at any other FBS school without earning it 1st, he's got another thing coming...

On the Irish Illustrated pod they were saying they were surprised he didn't graduate first (like all of us were as well). But with that in mind, they said they wouldn't be surprised if Pyne goes Ivy League. Brown was mentioned. If that is the plan, it make more sense.

It makes no sense at all if the plan is to go to like Western Kentucky to compete for the starter job and then end up with a Western Kentucky degree.
I don’t get why we are pretending a degree matters for someone with his family background/connections.

A degree helps get you your first job maybe your second. Nepotism has always been a path to a better first job than any degree. And as long as you don’t really suck, no one cares about your school by the time you are 4 years in to working

Any chance the Tulane QB will leave Tulane??
Yes, there's a chance. But he's not officially in the portal yet. Probably depends on him finding the right destination through back channels first.

I agree to an extent but 1. I believe the network/circle is as important if not more important as the piece of paper and 2. Pyne's pops is an Ivy Leaguer and probably would prefer his son not get a trash degree.

I know he can just go be Tommy Boy at his dad's company but maybe he (and his dad) want more for him than that.

dont want to speak for Lax but seems like when we have had some reports similar to this its typically related to unrealistic NIL demands.

Will be interesting to hear what comes out after the dust settles.

Don’t want to speak for LAX either and don’t want to imply anything about Leary specifically as I have no inside info, but I would add general behavior issues, legal issues, and academic concerns are other reasons ND is “moving on” from a player.
