While Lincoln Riley has instantly turned SC around, I console myself with the fact that the will bounce to the NFL within 3 years and SC is just one bad hire away from being mediocre again.

He's paper thin playing on the edge. Great for the passing game, but not so supporting the run. I think worst case scenario he's gotta be ready in obvious passing downs.

Please remind USC fans they haven’t won a title since 1978, and that one was shared.

Every program signed a contract that the BCS would crown the true champion, so 2003’s AP trophy is a paperweight, nothing more.

2004 was vacated. You may argue it still happened, but history says it didn’t.

*anybody have a link to a good hype video out there?

We don't got the firepower on offense to duplicate 2017
Wimbush threw for under 50% in that game.

ND has the horses in the stable to run over them like they did in '17.

I don't see that happening, but USC hasn't seen a defense or OL/run game like this one.

Let's roll the clock back a little and go with the 1977 thrashing.

Could you imagine if a team did that now? It would be amazing:

1. Warm up in standard unis

2. Go to locker room and change into special unis

3. Run out with a giant opponent themed float as a back drop

I remember reading USC players said they knew it was over right then and there.

Sorry if this was asked but is this the last time we see Foskey and Mayer suit up in an Irish uniform?
Very well looks like it. Most star players are sitting these days if the their team isn't in the CFP

I still remember watching on TV. You could feel the electricity of the crowd coming through the TV. That team also had some serious talent which didn't hurt.

Read an article from a USC writer that mentioned USC struggled with Utah's TE who was the best TE they faced all year. Mayer may be in for a huge day.

I always had the impression that Herby liked BK but disliked ND.
I've never gotten this impression I think Kirk does a pretty nice job of hiding his OSU bias, personally, and I haven't noticed any sort of anti-ND patterns.

David Pollack doesn't normally give ND much respect and my boy Pat McAfee hasn't picked the Irish a single time this szn, which pains me to say.

I feel the opposite about Pollack. He's been the guy banging the "are you guys crazy, they're obviously in" during prior playoff runs. He also has been extremely complimentary of our defense over the past 5 years.

Just been a gut impression. It always seemed to me that he was quick to compliment BK by name, but never seemed overly complimentary about the team/school.

Dalton Kincaid. He's a dude, and he played a helluva game that night. That was a terrific late Pac12 game; basically had the feeling that whoever had the ball last was going to win and that was Utah; they scored with just under a minute left to play and needed the PAT to tie it, Wittingham went for two and they won it.

Kincaid had 16 catches for 234 yards and a TD...in one game. Had blood all over his jersey and everything.

As long as ND runs the ball well, which I suspect they should, there's only so much USC can do to take away Mayer if they're worried about loading the box and stopping the run.

RTDB. Play action in the right spots. Profit.

It's funny how we get such different vibes from the talking heads. I remember a few times in the past two or three years Pollack pissing me off by scoffing at ND but maybe I'm wrong overall. I do remember him defending us without the CCG when Desmond and others were trying to work up a stink about that; he said 12-0, forget about it, move on.

Kirk, on the other hand, always gushes about the tradition and seems to love it when GameDay comes to town. He's the best in the biz, IMO.

I don't recall specifics but it seemed like Kirk did absolutely no homework on ND's team in preparation for the OSU game.
