That's ridiculous. I only eat authentic Italian food made from scratch.

I have no desire to go there. Would consider if someone bought my ticket and convinced my employer to not make me use leave either.I’ve never been to Italy so I can not comment on that, strictly speaking American Italian food
Why not?I have no desire to go there. Would consider if someone bought my ticket and convinced my employer to not make me use leave either.
Very low on my vacation destination priority. Vatican would be nice. Perhaps will do that when I'm old and ready to die.Why not?

Heritage places. Normandy. Luxembourg. Germany. Austria. Feel like that could be a long and fun trip. What's high on your list? I haven't been to Italy either--was just thinking about this myself. Curious how someone else who hasn't been there thinks about it. I like the idea of the history, I have some Italian heritage, enjoy wine regions but don't love the idea of some of the crowds in the major cities.
I can envision Dante coming out of this thing with NIL deals from a Mexican restaurant, a Pizza place, an Italian Restaurant, and a Sub Shop.I want nothing more than Dante to drop in here and rank his favorite sub places and then vanish again.
It’s amazing to visit, I’d reconsiderI have no desire to go there. Would consider if someone bought my ticket and convinced my employer to not make me use leave either.
So slept on,… this was the highlight of my trip. Talk about a time capsule.Went there this summer for 2 weeks on vacation. Went to Rome/VC, Assisi, Siena, Florence, Maranello (had to go see the Ferrari factory 😁), Orvieto and other parts of Tuscany/Umbria. The cathedrals/basilicas were amazing, even in the smaller towns. I felt like Florence and Rome were dirty/touristy, and really liked the small towns better. The food was outstanding virtually everywhere we went. It is definitely not the same as “Italian” food in the US as others have said. I highly recommend going if you ever have the chance.
If someone pays for it, I'm in! Otherwise, I'll focus on the higher priority trips first! It’s amazing to visit, I’d reconsider
The only country I completely default to as being better than we Americans are at steak,….The best Italian food I've ever had was in Argentina, but that's not something this thread is ready for...

Because NorthDakota is uncultured swineWhy not?
Absolutely. Place in my area is a regular steakhouse, but they brought a chef in to run their kitchen from Argentina. Cook their steaks at 1000 degrees on an open flame and season with nothing but sea-salt. Somehow the most flavorful cuts I've ever had.

Siena was may favorite personally. We were there during Il Campo, which is nuts.So slept on,… this was the highlight of my trip. Talk about a time capsule.
The food was good but the traditional Italian food was really basic… too much so for me. I liked the fish and breads and gelatos more than the pizza and pastas
The interior of the St Francis basilica was the one and only time in my life I had to sit down and take a moment to gather myself from the raw power of something,… I’ll never forget it. I hope to make it back one daySiena was may favorite personally. We were there during Il Campo, which is nuts.

Burgers are for the uncultured....but that sounds like a boring burger. could use mayo/miracle whip, lettuce, tomato, raw onion, ketchup, and mustard. Cheese I can live with or without.i bet he takes his burger with nothing but a bun and American cheese,…
