“he downplayed this visit as a sign of anything going on in his recruitment and more of an opportunity to experience a fun game with his friends.”

Learned following these Bowen and Greathouse recruitments, these TX powerhouse kids have to do more post game media than a college player lol. They get bombarded after every single game.
And honestly, I think both are pretty masterful at the craft.

so....something is happening with Greathouse or nah, not so much?

Keeping it close to the vest, but saying the right things and the beat generally feel confident that he sticks. I don't like him going to vi$it Texas, especially since he's confirmed that they're in pretty consistent attempts to sway him.

Only thing that would worry me about Texas is that they made a big jump in their NIL game recently as their five collectives came together to form one large one that is school sponsored. They seem to be making a crap ton of head way with in state kids right now and I have a feeling that's a big reason why.

I didn't think the school could have knowledge of it?

What scares the crap out of me is that Texas has arguably one of the Best QB Room in CF. Ewers and Manning are two names that can draw receivers. We have no one for the next two years. Big problem.

Texas I think is basically recruiting him to be what we’ve been doing with Jayden Thomas this year. A Flex WR/TE.

Now he may do the same in South Bend…..but I don’t think we’re putting that ceiling on it

I think a strategic miss by this staff was not playing Angeli at the end of Syracuse or UNLV with a passing set. I think it would have put yet another QB into a viable QB category. If we lose receiver recruits I think it will be based on a lack of faith - in part - in the QB room.

Angeli can't be so bad that he couldn't have had some swing pass or screen playsets ready. Heck he is the current backup anyways.

3 things have to happen next year, in order for Angeli to be the starter.

1.) The staff doesn’t land a transfer
2.) Buchner transfers
3.) Pyne transfers

Angeli not playing should have zero impact on recruiting.

Did you see what happened when Klubnik went into the game? What could go wrong?!

They tried that last year. The end of season like the Stanford game was basically a recruiting expo

Del didn’t get the memo

This is on the staff for not having a quality '23 in this class helping hold it together. We should be getting stronger in the class, not weaker. So frustrating.

QB or WR? I think Chansi has done an outstanding job of recruiting quality WR's this cycle.

Maybe. But QBs aside, our approach to NIL is going to have us fighting an uphill battle to keep our best recruits late in the cycle no matter what. The next month could be wild all over the place.

Also, the sky's not falling here. Committed recruits go to big games at Hometown U all the time. Why wouldn't they? Remember how many LSU games Jerry Tillery attended? It was "he gone" every damn week. In the end that guy played a lot of football for Notre Dame.

Gotta help that their 5-star QB looked absolutely terrible. Insane to me the computers were so high on Texas heading into last week.

I think Pyne should be on a very short leash vs BC. If he doesn't get the f*ckiing job done, put Angeli in.

I think ND can beat USC with a 2-QB system. Pyne sneaks out with W's and we don't know what Angeli can do. Get Angeli some PT vs BC and throw USC a curveball the next week.

Well, I think ND would be okay putting Angeli in as long as it's not on our own 5 f*cking yard line like Dabo did for some reason.

Schools are allowed to not only have knowledge of it but they can facilitate meetings between players and collectives ON CAMPUS. A lot of schools aren’t breaking any rules with their NIL. The only thing the school can’t do is negotiate the contract on behalf of the player.

I do think AngelIi needs to get time but we can’t wait until the game is “out of hand” since we have not shown we are capable of that whatsoever

The only way we see Angeli is is Pyne gets hurt.

I think with Angeli they are trying to save his redshirt. He’s played in two games already to just hand off the ball. It will be hard to put him in unless Pyne really craps the bed the next two weeks.

Yeah, the lack of blowouts has been striking. For of our five OLM have played every offensive snap.

And will need to replace both guard spots next year so reps for Spindler etc would be valuable
As much as I appreciate Zeke’s progress, I almost wonder if we are better long term getting another guy in at center too. Ashton Craig and Pat Cohan have been mentioned as performing well in practice. A bigger body at center has certainly been nice for us in the past

This...is...something else. It looks like something a 1970s burger King manager would wear. Easy to see why they lost...no way anyone can be intense after laughing their ass off.

Looks like a bad guy military uniform for a cheesy 70s sci-fi movie.

Texas is 6-4 with wins over ULM and UTSA. Doesn't scream impressive on the field.

I just don’t love the idea of 3 new starters inside next year, especially at Center who needs to be able to communicate
