Just caught the highlights from the LSU game last night....BK going to LSU is a huge gain for ND.

I had LSU losing this game. BK couldn't win the big game at ND, does LSU think he can win the big game there at LSU??

Again thanks BK for leaving ND. Good luck, I guess.

I thought Norvell was a better coach, but maybe it's simply too difficult dealing with that culture. The game turned in LSU's favor when FSU late hit the QB. LSU was ready to fold the tent after a terrible overshot pass. I think in game management was poor as well from my armchair QB seat. Up 7-3 before half and you go for it on 4th and 2 instead of trying the field goal. Assuming you make it, you go up 10-3 knowing you get the ball to begin the second half. He seemed super panicked down the stretch. I see them finishing 8-4. Pure luck winning that game.

That was such a BK game last night playing down to the opponent’s level. Happy to be done with that. He’s lucky that FSU gifted him the ball at the end.

My take FWIW:
FSU is much better because they now can play offense (and still have defensive athletes.)
LSU is (mostly) better than them BUT
a.) Maybe the worst special teams performance I've seen recently;
b.) Some entitled guys still on that team on offense; can Coach Kelly man-up and hammer them?;
c.) LSU really needs that stud Defensive Tackle to create chaos;
d.) Their offensive play-calling is a lot worse than Tommy's.

Kelly is going to win a bunch of games if he gets his coaches fixed, and slaps a few Fancy Dans' butts.

That might have been the worst special teams performance of all time. Numerous blocked kicks, muffed catches leading to turnovers, and shanked punts. I’m not sure they executed a single special teams play.

I can’t figure out how you let a PAT get blocked. I think that’s harder to do than shanking it.

They’ll be lucky to win 7 games this year.

I just went to their schedule thinking there is now way he loses more than 4 games. I think it will be a minor miracle if LSU is bowl eligible. They have 3 guaranteed wins. I think Bama will destroy them. That means he has to win 3 games out of Florida, Tennessee, Arkansas, A&M, Auburn, Ole Miss and Miss State. It's possible to go 6 and 6, but he would have to make sure the team doesn't quit on him.

Not having the team quit on him will be a tall order given his complete lack of motivational skills

You all are crazy or naive to think that Kelly is not going to win and win a lot at LSU. Year 1 is going to look a lot like Saban year 1 at Alabama. He has to tear down the house to the foundation and rebuild it. Watch LSU in year 2 and then in year 3. Will he will a NC I don’t know, but he will get that program rolling. So I suppose you can take your shots at Kelly now, but Notre Dame doesn’t need anymore bad karma.

I think he'll be a 10-2 type coach at LSU. Solid, but not good enough to beat Saban and Kirby.

I wouldn’t be surprise if last night’s game was similar to the ND vs UT opener in 2016. Two seemingly good teams battling down to the last second for a dramatic opening weekend classic. Then fast forward to the end of the season & it turns out both teams equally underperformed & ended up being trash.

I have a really hard time seeing Kelly ever beating Saban or Smart. Then one or both of Jimbo and Kiffin will probably beat him every year. He’s not going to magically become better at recruiting. Yeah LSU has loads of in state talent but a lot of the top players are getting poached by the other winning programs and that probably will continue.
