I've always wondered... why not run a play like that that works, like 12 x's per game instead of 1. But, maybe that's why I am just an arm chair coach.

But imagine a better, bigger, 3-4 years older version of that CJ Carr dropping it to Jaden Greathouse's or Ryan Wingo's back shoulder, 40 yards downfield on the friggin money, instead of Michael Squints/Scotty Smalls. I don't think anyone in CFB defends that pass. If he does that consistently, he's a first rounder.

Trying to subliminally get Carr to reclass? Yea thought the strategy was not putting any pressure on him to do so?

My thing is it's not CJ's fault that Tommy (so far) has whiffed at QB in the 2023 class and foolishly put all of his eggs in the basket of someone who strung the program along for months and he shouldn't feel pressure to reclassify.
NIL whiffed, Not Tommy, Not MF

Just threw a pick. Just a bad pass right to the defender. He's got a long ways to go. The game will end soon and someone will win in this low scoring toilet bowl of terrible football. Just a junior and game 1. He should stay and graduate. 2 turnovers I believe. All on him. Took a lot of sacks, 1 for like a 20 yard loss he could have thrown it away easily. Dropped a beautiful dime at 40+ yards. He's just a kid that has a lot of needed growth. Huge upside. Fun to watch. Honestly, watching this makes me more confident in Tyler Buchner. CJ will get his turn and I think he can be really good, but TB looked insane in HS. TB's passing + dynamic running ability is pretty outrageous.

Haven't been impressed. Like at all.... Saline is terrible btw too
Everyone is white and small on both sides of the ball. They are both bad teams is all I am saying. This is about the lowest competition you can get. Dante Moore's team would dominate these squads by 60.

He threw another pick. It was just a jump ball corner fade from near the endzone and his WR looks like forgot how to jump. Man, I forgot how bad HS football can be lol.

Looks like Saline squeaked out the win against the other very bad small all white team. Game 1 in the books for CJ Carr. Not impressed, but he had little to work with. TB12 might be money. The grass aint always greener, but I am excited for what CJ can become. I do hope we land a '23 as banking on CJ Carr as the future of the program is silly, even if he's a future Tom Brady.

It is absolutely not the lowest competition you can get lol, it's just....high school football.

You're correct, it's not as low as it gets. It's 1A in Michigan. However, I can say, these are low to mid range 1A. Not a single kid on either team will get recruited for D1 football outside of CJ Carr. Doubtful anyone on the opposing team ever sees the field in D2.

Saline literally has another 4 star prospect lol <iframe class="twofourseven-embed" title="Player Embed" style="max-width: 100%" frameBorder="0" width="600" height="200" src=""></iframe><script async src="https://assets.247sports.com/Scripts/SkyNet/Shared/embed.js" charSet="utf-8"></script>

Other team was more what I was trying to say. I don't doubt CJ has a bud. It usually grows that way. I did say "either team" so that was my miss.

But damn, a 5 star QB throwing to a 6'5 4 star TE and they get beat around by a rag tag bunch of small little white dudes?

I don't doubt that, but they're still a very solid HS FB program in the state of Michigan. A consistent playoff team, at the very least. Even good HS FB teams look awful when compared to D1 FBS college football. Barring some notable exceptions.

The other team is not a consistent playoff team. Saline maybe.

Hudsonville is probably all white if that matters and middle of the road in their conference / but there’s no way they are super small. Too much Dutch out there lol- their safety/wr is like 6’5” and going to navy to play from 2023. The other wr is 6’4” and a dII offered guy. One of my old coaches is their head coach. They almost beat saline last year as well.

Hudsonville is a large, middle to upper middle class area outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Very Dutch and essentially all white. More churches than people. Many people there that are like 7'0 tall, lol. I doubt they're super small, but just thinking about Bowen and Greathouse and hard to compare. There is certainly a diversity component that makes teams stronger. I think we can all agree on that.

Cool on the Navy thing. I always love the academy stuff. What's the kids name going to Navy? He will be very familiar with ND :). If he's really 6'5, he should see the field early at Navy.
