Love CJ but #3 QB is fine for him. Raiola is better than Arch, Nelson, and Dante and on par with Ewers as a prospect. Doesn't mean CJ won't be better at the college level, but right now Raiola should absolutely be #1 QB.

Would absolutely rather have Carr in the '23 class. The sooner he gets on campus and starts getting experience the better it'll be for Freeman. He needs all the pieces in place to be successful and a game changer at QB could help solidify MF in the new position.
That's obviously best for ND and CJ's development as a QB. He may not want to cut his high school experience short by a year for social reasons, but there's no argument that doing so would be best for him as a football player.

Same
And CJ should be able to sit and mature for a year (and learn).

I still love the idea of CJ 23 and Sayin 24, but that sounds like a dream at this point #thanksDante

I live nearby so I’m going to go watch his first game. Nothing else to do on a random Thursday night. Excited to see him live.

They play on thursday nights?

Only on Labor Day Weekend. They don’t have school Friday. Michigan plays on Friday nights, just always open on Thursday night on Labor Day weekend (likely so ADs can go on vacay).

I have 1.) Raiola 2) Carr 3 )Sayin
I think Carr is and Saylin are close ranking wise but Raiola has a big lead over the other two.

Disagree. CJ had the highest score at the elite 11 for all ‘23 and ‘24 QBs. If they show up to the same camp, CJ wins imo. Raiola is good but I’m not convinced there’s much of a gap if any.

I think CJ is more accurate and more technical which at events like the Elite 11 is weighted very high.
Raiola has the stronger arm of the two, and though he is not a mobile QB he is much more mobile in the pocket then CJ. Raiola has a better frame then CJ and a slightly better pocket presence

I disagree on “much more mobile in the pocket”. CJs tape is kind of elusive. CJ is pretty shifty. While maybe he can’t throw 80 yards, I don’t doubt 60. Also, as shown by the greats in the NFL, wicked deep arm talent is vastly overrated.

Technical and accurate, particularly if consistent, mixed with strong arm talent which he has, and pocket mobility, is about as elite as one can ask for in a QB. Then there is the perfect height and perfect intangibles. I think Id keep Raiola at 1 until CJ beats him.if Raiola shys away from the camps like Mannig, we will know who’s better. There’s no way that gap is wide to me. But I agree that he and Sayin are close with Carr having slight edge.

I like CJ better than Clausen. I do see some similarities, just not personality wise.

Raiola can move though. The thing I like about CJ is he isnt afraid to run when he has too but he isnt has mobile as Raiola. For the arm strength its important beyond just the deep ball.

Just to be clear, Im not Dogging on CJ at all. I think he is a great 5 star QB and should end up ranked 10-20 overall nationally but Raiolas film just looks alot better to me.

Raiola’s tape is good. No doubt. What I like about CJ though is he has that extra velocity on the ball that we haven’t had in a long time. Plus the accuracy. Plus the clear leadership, which I think is top overall. He’s already a more well spoken kid in interviews than anyone on the roster. I think he’s going to be sensational and with his personality and gifted ability, a real Heisman potential candidate at QB.

Is CJ enrolling early?
I hope not. I want him to get as much development before college as possible and not be rushed a la JT Daniels. Hopefully he doesn't feel pressure to reclassify if the staff whiffs at QB or grabs someone who can't really play (like Brendon Clark) this cycle because they foolishly put all of their eggs in one basket and were strung along for months.

He’s enrolling early. It’s a done deal. EE is great for development. It would be after his senior season so it hurting his development makes 0 sense.

I’d say confusion between EE and VEE (very early).

This is the most valuable recruit I would argue in 30 years. We should have four top 10 classes in a row the day CJ suits up. The only thing missing is that elite, 5 star arm talent. This current class should finish over 290. ‘24 can be that good. Elite QB play is what it will take to compete.

Na, he'll get better development with Balis and the crew the sooner he gets on campus. We have some impressive classes coming in right now, the sooner we get a game changer at QB the sooner we can capitalize on that. It's better for Freeman's stock, recruiting, and career if we start winning now rather than later. If he were to tank for any reason he might get a short leash given the fact he had no HC experience coming in.

My thing is it's not CJ's fault that Tommy (so far) has whiffed at QB in the 2023 class and foolishly put all of his eggs in the basket of someone who strung the program along for months and he shouldn't feel pressure to reclassify.

If he wants to reclassify, do it. If he doesn't, he shouldn't. Rees and co should be recruiting 23 QBs like he's not reclassifying, and it sounds like they are.
