I'm not sure, but the consensus seems to be that UGA is the big leader for Sayin. I hope CJ stays in the '24 class. I want him to get another year of development and to be the leader for the '24 recruiting class.
Respectfully I disagree. While clearly the kid should do what he wants, the subliminal messages by the staff to me says CJ is entertaining it and they’re just saying we support it.
As far as ‘24, CJ’s impact on that class should not change a bit being in ‘23. He’s still their QB. He’s still going to recruit them. Development under Rees and Balis and working for a full season with the ‘23 receivers will put him exceedingly above where he’d be at Saline. While the kid should do what he wants, from a development perspective, Notre Dame is it by a mile.
Not only that, if there’s nobody good in the ‘23 class to get at QB, it will be far easier to get a ‘24 as it’s still early enough. Posse, Sayin, and others all have a connection with Rees.
Perhaps the staff sees the need for CJ to get to ND to play early.
