If he is indeed a '23 recruit, do you think we are silently recruiting Sayin and asking him to keep it hush so nobody ruins the CJ Carr reclassification?
I'm not sure, but the consensus seems to be that UGA is the big leader for Sayin. I hope CJ stays in the '24 class. I want him to get another year of development and to be the leader for the '24 recruiting class.

Respectfully I disagree. While clearly the kid should do what he wants, the subliminal messages by the staff to me says CJ is entertaining it and they’re just saying we support it.

As far as ‘24, CJ’s impact on that class should not change a bit being in ‘23. He’s still their QB. He’s still going to recruit them. Development under Rees and Balis and working for a full season with the ‘23 receivers will put him exceedingly above where he’d be at Saline. While the kid should do what he wants, from a development perspective, Notre Dame is it by a mile.

Not only that, if there’s nobody good in the ‘23 class to get at QB, it will be far easier to get a ‘24 as it’s still early enough. Posse, Sayin, and others all have a connection with Rees.

Perhaps the staff sees the need for CJ to get to ND to play early.

My mothers side of the family is German Dutch from GR/Muskegon.
its always funny over on the west side of MI you get a bunch of folks who claim to be Dutch or Polish but in reality they are Germans. It's like folks down south saying they are Irish when its obvious they are of Ulster-Scots ancestry

But most of west Michigan has ancestry from the Netherlands. Even great grand parents that speak Dutch. They have towns like “Holland”.

I see. Yes, WW1 too. Nobody wanted to be German at that time. I suppose some of that Dutch population suddenly “increased.”

Best thing for him unless he plans on transferring somewhere like IMG the reps he gets in practice against our DL will be more than the competition he is facing
The DL is going to be trash because Keely isn't coming. Let Carr be a high school kid where he lives. He'll be here soon enough to be forgotten about once the next five star QB gets offered and that'll be the dude everyone obsesses over.

It's the last summer weekend before Labor Day. Who needs this kind of stress?

But 5* QB's are scared off by Carr and won't come. Ironically, that isn't the case at OSU, Clemson, Bama, UGA, etc.

I'm going off of a pretty significant sample size of threads and posts, so I am going to safely tell you that this ain't going to stop shit with the hand wringing and pant pissing. I'll bet a year's worth of mortgage payments on it.

We aren't talking enough about how Tommy Rees has already turned Carr into a turnover machine. He ruined the crown jewel of the '24 class before he even stepped foot on campus. Pretty impressive.

Almost as impressive as his QB recruiting in 2023.

CJ is smart enough to see that Rees turned a 3 star talent and 6'0 Ian Book into a draft pick and one of the most accomplished QBs in program history. I'd say that's more impressive than developing a kid like Bryce Young that walks in ready to play. If I am a 5 star QB, I go to the program where the coach actually developed someone, not a program where the nations #1 QB did well in his first year. There were a handful of throws that CJ made last night that TB likely cannot make.

You're correct, it's not as low as it gets. It's 1A in Michigan. However, I can say, these are low to mid range 1A. Not a single kid on either team will get recruited for D1 football outside of CJ Carr. Doubtful anyone on the opposing team ever sees the field in D2.

The other team is not a consistent playoff team. Saline maybe.

Lol, du Lac is relentless with his opinions but they always seem to be wrong. Love how you are unfazed and just keep posting, assuming you'll eventually get it right. Cheers to the optimists of the board!

I could be overthinking this, but could all this CJ reclassifying stuff just be media ploy to pressure Avery Johnson to make up his mind and pick ND?

Amazing that a state that smells like old hot dog water has such heavy sway with it's Electoral College points. Zero chance James Madison saw that or Rich Rodriguez coming.
