Prister, naturally, “highly doubts” Patterson plays against OSU. He said that 20 seconds after O’Malley said that Patterson told the staff he felt good today.

If they were opening up against Marshall or Cal, I could see him sitting out. Unless the pain is just too much, I don’t see him sitting out. Especially with a top notch training staff and with today‘a modern medicine.

50 mics of Fentanyl and he’s ready to go!

Alternatively he takes it a bit easy leading up to OSU, plays in that game, and then takes it easy for the next few weeks after to finish healing. Just depends on his comfort level. There have been guys that have done it before. I want to say last year Mayer played with the strained groin for the Cinci game and then took the BYE to heal up.

Any foot sprains from players in recent history to compare?

Brandon Wimbush - grade 1 foot sprain Sept. 30th, leading to Ian Book's 1st start against UNC - bye week - completely healthy for USC on Oct 21st

Javon McKinley - missed last 4 games of 2019 with a mid-foot sprain

Sucks that our two returning captains won't play on the road against OSU. I bet the betting lines moves a few points

I need help in understanding Freeman's quote re the OLM who were out the other day. Were they all in concussion protocol? He talked about "following the protocol" for those guys. But there were six out in the last viewed practice. Patterson is obviously not but that's a lot of concussions at one time.

He did say Carmody is still in concussion protocol and Coogan was back. Said Baker and Wagner will be back soon, didn't mention Caleb Johnson.

Likely COVID protocol

Did anyone see anything about a Deion Colzie update? I couldn’t find anything so wanted to throw it out there. I know he has a knee sprain but that was stated a few days ago.

Thanks. So based off that + some comments from Prister it’s play Patterson through possibly some pain and risk reinjury or sit him to expect full recovery. If that’s that case it’s hard with a straight face to not admit sitting him could be the right choice. With Patterson being a captain he surely will not want to and sends a less than ideal message though

Yeah, I think it makes sense to sit him unless his pain goes down and the delta between Patterson and Kristofic/Spindler isn't game plan altering

Initial gut feelings: who do we like better: Tyree, Diggs, and Estime or the 2018 group of Dex, TJJ, and Jafar? In terms of what they offer on a single season basis

I definitely like Tyree, Diggs, and Estime more. Tyree is lightning in the open field and is a bigger receiving threat compared to Dex, but both have big play ability. Diggs is the everydown back similar to TJJ, he's still young and can improve further. I see him as Kyren Lite for now. I was never sold on Jafar, I like Estime's potential.

If he takes it easy, he'll be out of condition and gassed after the first series!

Read this stuff while I’m on the edge of my seat cringing for our next injury.
