He actually did seem to like his visit quite a bit. I don’t believe Michigan will have staying power there though, Clemson is tough when they turn it on for a QB, other southern schools will focus up after 2023.

It's hilarious that this was framed like Michigan could have just decided to take CJ Carr if they wanted to. Michigan was pushing for him, people around him was pushing for him to go to Michigan, and yet he had no interest in UM and wanted ND.

EJ I’ve seen try to do this he’s only Cade McNamara with a slightly better arm thing to disparage CJ. First CJ has a much better arm not slightly better, he’s taller and will be bigger by the time college rolls around. And if you told me what if Cade McNamara was bigger with a stronger arm, it’d say that’s a very good QB because Cade is smart, quick and accurate.

I am pretty sure it was reported (far before we emerged as the favorite for CJ) that out of the QB board ND was looking at for both 2023 and 2024 that the staff actually liked Carr the best. And it was never meant as a disparagement to the other prospects who the staff was incredibly high on like Moore, Arnold, and Vizzina. The staff LOVES Carr... so yea, EJ is full of it when he says CJ is just "meh". EJ is just a sore loser.

I remain steadfast in my belief that at least one-third to half of the disdain for Rees traces back to his playing days and frustration that he was not “better.” (Despite the fact that he was a lowly-recruited three-star who outplayed far more “talented” QBs and without whom the best season we’d had in 20 years at that point doesn’t happen).
