I will end it here. If you state something from a position of power (owner) and when you declare something it carries more weight than a normal contributor. Talking about psychology, it is a trip to watch the owners/mods have minions that follow every word and jump on people who disagree. That is the power structure at play. Not saying it is wrong because the core dynamics of power structures plays out everywhere in life. Have a good day.
While I appreciate the owners’ (and mods’) efforts and what they have done with this site, that alone doesn’t make me respect their opinions on our coaching staff more than others. Maybe more than yours, but not the average poster in general.

No, but thanks for trying to tell me how I will react. Glad we have Nostradamus in the house.

I will be excited for a new start because Coach Freeman does not mess around.
Wasn’t one of MFMF’s stipulations before he took the job that Rees had to be staying on as OC?

It was part of his pitch to give him more appeal. I don't think he would've passed on the ND job had Rees walked, however.

The point is, did Freeman want Rees badly, or was he saddled with him (as TNU stated) by Swarbrick.

I believe Freeman wanted Rees badly.

Being an owner or mod doesn't make them smarter
See here comes the minions! If I ever pursue my PhD I will have to use message boards, twitter as a resource. Love it. Thank you guys.
What is this power they reign over us that you speak of? Banning a user? I've been on here since 2009 and I've never been afraid to call out a owner/mod or disagree with them. I can think of a lot of worse things than getting banned from a message board. Besides, if the owner/mods were quick to pull the trigger, posters would leave in a hurry and go to another board where they could express their opinions.

I would love to get into this but I said I was done with discussing it. But I will say as a long time member and lurker that my accusation is not without merit.

Whiskey has power because his words are always thoughtfully considered and his intelligence shines thru. He's earned his followers and friends over a consistent posting history.

You, on the other hand, have minimal history.... and I gotta say, you aren't off to a great start.

On Vizzina, something to consider, we offered Vizzina is October of 2021. There were two months from then to Freeman getting the job. Then, there were two months from when Freeman took over, called Vizzina to tell him he was our guy and Vizzina's end of December visit to that February Loy update. No chance ND doesn’t have the lead if we pressed like we should’ve from the moment of the offer or even the moment Freeman made that call. But we didn’t. Even Loy commented back then, on how Vizzina couldn’t commit without Dante getting a call. Recruits feel that and it gets back to them. The narrative was put out there that Dante was the #1 guy, from the very beginning, on purpose. They tried to skirt around it but it ultimately mattered. Just like it mattered last cycle with how everything was handled.

The end result is all that matters. Whether you can’t land the QB because you don’t have enough swag or you don’t land them because you don’t grind enough or you chose the wrong horse and that horse ended up being a dishonest bunch, is really irrelevant. What matters is who ya got. So far, we got nobody. I'd call that a miss.

As a whole, Rees has been QB coach since 2017. His QB recruiting has been a mixed bag. You give him credit for Buch and soon to be CJ but there is no way you can look at it and call it a success. Rees could not recruit a replacement for Ian so he had to get a GT in Coan. Coan isn't even a drafted NFL QB. The fact that after so long, Rees did not have his own QB to take over for Book is the problem. The fact that he's literally never recruited a QB that's in the NFL is a problem.

In fact, fun yet crazy fact. Since Rees came back in 2017, he has never recruited a QB, out of HS, that has started, finished, and won a game in a ND uniform. That's insanity. Buch in 2022, Rees 6th season back, will be his first chance.

This notion that when he gets called up by the Rams will be some sort of validation is misleading, IMO. It will be validation for his offensive mind and prowess, not his recruiting wins. The dude can call some good offense. The Rams won't be hiring him for the spotty recruiting. It will because he's smart offensive guy that will call plays.

I have a history here, but that is immaterial (previous name, and no I was not banned, joined originally in 2009). Your post really illustrates my point I was making about lemmings. I disagree that his responses are always well thought out. But here we go and we are going to turn this into a spat. Here you step into a conversation that has nothing to do with you and you defend him. Do you not see that? I was not talking to you, it was purely directed at your dictator. Yet, captain save a ho comes in on their horse to save the day.

Can we all agree that the class of 2011 was the GOAT? Whiskey, Beau, ArrowRyan, Clashmore, greyhammer, NDPhilly. I joined that year as well but I dont think I add nearly as much as a few others who I havent listed but I dont think are as active anymore (Irishpat)... We really need to get back to rookie of the year awards so I can quickly remember who joined and what class they are part of.

Bro, I didn't realize you also were 2011. I just went to the Rookie of the Year thread for my year to see who else joined around the same time. I'll edit my post now. Can't not have the 2012 Funniest poster of the Year included.

Please don't haha. I saw the opportunity and had to be that guy. I honestly didn't know I had joined in 2011 and had to check. I need a different hobby.

Why? This seems like a massive assumption that we just would have led with no reasoning besides we push harder.
