I seriously can't fathom why Gallagher would commit to West Virginia.

Neal Brown is on the hottest of hot seats and his offenses have been downright abysmal over the past 3 seasons that he's been there.
He lives 30 minutes from Morgantown. It’s probably as simple as that. Just speculating but I’d bet there’s some personal life reason he wants to stay close to home. He wouldn’t be the first.

Because yeah there is no football reason this kid would turn down Notre Dame and Penn State for West Virginia.

Best wishes to him. Based on what I’ve heard I think WVU is a good fit for him for a variety of reasons.

Tavon Austin was a decade ago and a different head coach and offensive system.

And ND's done what with a short WR since Will Fuller?

Half the guys in the NFL are there because they didn't go to a football factory as the 4th best player at their position, in their class, opting instead for a program where they got quality snaps from Day 1.

Why would he bounce if he's the man? 750+ APY his Fr year, 1000+ yard Soph season. Why leave?
Many reasons... at the end of the day nobody likes to lose... also those with stats more big fish with bigger pockets with more wins will come knocking.

If it's Bama with a history of success and a chance at a natty... ok.

But the NFL is the most important thing here.

I’m surprised it hasn’t appeared here, the NIL stuff has seemed like assumption and guesswork that I’ve seen. The one that’s had the boards in a bigger tizzy other than here is that his girlfriend decided on WVU recently and that’s the reason.

Rumor on Pitt boards is that the NIL deal is $600K+.

That's your answer as to why he would commit to WVU.

NIL has replaced "football factory" as the go to excuse for this board. Obviously NIL matters but lots of recruits don't choose Notre Dame. It happens.

And sometimes they don't choose ND because WVU throws $600K their way.

It's not an excuse, but it is an explanation. I am not knocking any of the parties involved here just noting the reality of the current recruiting environment.

Can't speak for OP, but this is the same thing that every school uses.....Clemson thinks ND is running around with huge NIL deals, which is why we are about to land 3 of their top OL targets. When a school wants player X and player goes somewhere else, the first thing that is said now is NIL. For some, that will be 100% true. For some, it won't be. For example, I firmly believe that if Tate had the same NIL deal for all schools, he still wouldn't choose ND. But that will still be the #1 excuse everyone will make whenever he announces.

I don't think anyone will use that as an excuse. Who could fault a WR for picking OSU right now? They just had 3 of their recruits go back to back to back in the first round. They're an NFL WR factory.

idk but some of you ELITE'S need to get off your high horses...whatever a kid and family choose is their choice to make...500k is life changing...never know what the circumstances are and even if they aren't in line w/ what you would steer your kid to, doesn't make THEIR decision wrong

Agree with both of the previous comments. Not every 17 year olds dream is the same as our dream. If the kid always wanted to be a legend at a school close to him, while always having his family and gf close while he stars there, and oh ya .... is going to get 500k + to do it.... GO GET IT KID !!!

(Unless your name is Dante Moore, then your dream should be exactly the same as our dream, and commit already DAMN IT!)
