More than 30 feared dead in Kramatorsk railway station strike
By NBC News
At least 39 people were killed after two rockets hit a railway station in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region as thousands were trying to evacuate the area, Ukrainian officials said Friday.
"This is an evil that has no limits. And if it is not punished, it will never stop," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following the attack, which Donetsk’s governor said had also left at least 87 injured. NBC News was unable to independently verify the strikes or the reported death toll and injuries.
On Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied that there were any "combat missions" in Kramatorsk. Moscow has consistently denied targeting civilians in its attacks on Russia.
On Thursday, the United States and European Union moved to ramp up pressure on Russia to end its invasion of Ukraine. Congress voted to suspend normal trade relations with Russia and to ban imports of the country's oil and gas into the U.S., while the E.U. approved new sanctions, including a ban on Russian coal, with further measures anticipated.
The efforts come as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen prepares to meet with Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Friday.

"War crimes" means a trial at the Hague, and you're not dragging Putin to Brussels in handcuffs without regime change in Moscow, which has never happened before to the head of a nuclear-armed state. So don't count on it. He's far more likely to get assassinated by one of his own than to face international justice.
The Hague and conviction are red herrings.

Read my lips:
Putin is a war criminal
OJ Simpson murdered Nichole Brown Simpson

Putin has been tried and convicted in the world's judgment (excluding china and Iran) and in a world of visual images the war crimes, and the ones that will come, are in plain sight.

This impacts NATO's eagerness, only 80 years after auschwitz, to provide weapons.
And the momentum moves daily to cutting off more Russian oil exports.

He is short people, supply, command and control and credibility. Few have fallen so far, so fast, in a mere 50 days.

GK Chesterton may have prophesied this:

"“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.”

The Ukrainian Freedom Fighters, regular and militia, are highly and justly motivated.,

The Rooskies were lied to by their leaders.

And the mercenaries, whether Wagner Syrian have meh loyalty, but only so long as the checks clear.

Austrian chancellor says meeting with Putin was "not a friendly visit"

From CNN's Nadine Schmidt in Berlin

A face-to-face meeting between Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow was ''not a friendly visit," Nehammer said in a statement issued by an Austrian official after the meeting.
"This is not a friendly visit. I have just come from Ukraine and have seen with my own eyes the immeasurable suffering caused by the Russian war of aggression,” he said in the statement.
Nehammer — the first European Union leader to have met with Putin since the invasion of Ukraine began on February 24 — said the conversation with the Russian leader was "very direct, open and tough.”
The Austrian chancellor added that his most important message to Putin was that the war in Ukraine must end because "in a war there are only losers on both sides,” reiterating that he had hoped to help bring an end to the war or improve conditions for civilians.
''I addressed the serious war crimes in Bucha and other places and emphasized that all those responsible for them must be held accountable. I also told President Putin in no uncertain terms that sanctions against Russia will remain in place and will continue to be tightened as long as people are dying in Ukraine,'' Nehammer said.
''I have just come from Ukraine and have seen with my own eyes the immeasurable suffering caused by the Russian war of aggression. The trip to Moscow and the talks with President Putin are a duty for me. A duty out of a sense of responsibility to leave no stone unturned to bring about a cessation of hostilities or at least humanitarian progress for the suffering civilian population in Ukraine. For me, there is no alternative to seeking direct talks with Russia as well, despite all the very great differences," Nehammer said in the statement.
''The EU is more united than ever on this issue. I also made it clear to the Russian President that there is an urgent need for humanitarian corridors to bring drinking water and food to the besieged cities and to bring out women, children and the wounded. I will now return to inform our European partners about my conversation with the Russian President and discuss further steps," he concluded.

Ukraine troops reporting russians using chemical weapons in mariupol. Not sure if anyone would be able to get into the city to confirm the reports.

Would specially equipped drones be able to detect chemical substances in Mariupol?
Yes. The US military has had such drones for at least a few years. If there is reason to believe Russia used chemical warfare weapons, you can bet we or someone else from NATO will supply such drones or other detection devices to confirm it.

Would have been nice for our President to visit Kyiv in the same manner when he was in Poland to show the our country’s support…….embarrassing.
Same weakling that offered the President of Ukraine a swift ride out when the heat began. Something Biden would have done in a heartbeat had the roles been reversed. Thank God that not all men are cowards who seek their own interests first and foremost.

Russia's economy is beginning to crack as economists forecast sharp contractions

Goldman has 10%
The other organization cited15%

The economic distress is coming, despite the (duh) denial by the Butcher of Bucha

And it will get worse with all the images of these slaughtered non-combatants
