Teslas? Child please. If we are recruiting airman basics....sure.

We want the creme of the crop. High-end European cars only. ND has the money. Let them pick their car.

If the recruit knows cars, they’ll pick THAT Tesla. It’s be the fastest, most exclusive hypercar on the planet.

This is what I would expect, and it's probably what we deserve until we win on the big stage in some way like a NY6 bowl. No Heisman winners since Tim Brown, no big time NFL QB stars since early 90s at best. That said, someone has to be the guy to push us back over the mountain and whoever does that will be a legend.
All it takes is one stud QB to catapult this program into heights not seen since the 80s. Said QB will do wonders with WR recruiting. The OL and the defense are already in place. When I think back to what could have been if Clausen had even a decent OL and fraction of a defense. Ugh. All I remember from those years is Jimmy running for his life but still balling out, offense putting up like 38ppg and yet the defense giving up games and losing to Navy, UConn, etc. A stud QB on this ND team is all that's needed to break through the barriers. How many playoff games (or Championships) would ND have won over the last 5 years if they had a Fields, Lawrence, or any Bama QB running the show? They HAVE TO land a stud QBs. Anything less is unacceptable.

I am very much in agreement here and have been saying as much for years. A QB1 of Heisman, first round draft pick caliber is what Brian Kelly was missing. We all had high hopes after seeing some of the QB whispering he did at CMU and Cincinnati. For all the very good RB, OL, TE the program had during that era the best we got at QB was Kizer, Book? I think a Brady Quinn under Kelly's program may have gotten the job done with a few of those teams. To win a Championship going forward, it is a must along with the playmaking WR.

Bama, Clemson, OU, Ohio State have been able to turn out very good college Heisman candidate QBs that have been drafted in the first round. Just give us that. Anything they do in the NFL is a bonus, but so much of that falls totally out of ND's hands, obviously. Get the guy that is going to put up big numbers and points, take care of the ball and win games in the big moments. He's going to have the OL and TE for certain. Just need the guy to take the leap of faith with Freeman and be the man.

I hope it's Dante.

It kinda feels like what he ends up doing this weekend could be somewhat telling of where his heads at, no? Wasn’t it Ohio St or somewhere else that he was planning on going this weekend prior to the rumor about him catching Michigan’s spring game?

Off the line maybe, but it’s all torque and will be chased down by real cars.

That’s the upcoming Roadster. It will be a whole mother level above the Model S Plaid’s.

“Real cars” are almost dead… and this is coming from a guy with two 20+ year old V8 Mercedes and a 66 Mustang.

Screw that. What has A&M ever accomplished? Seriously. They caught lightning in a bottle with Manziel and I guess have beaten Alabama in a couple of (ultimately meaningless) regular season games. Good class last year, sure. But Notre Dame has done far more on the field over the last decade to "deserve" a big-time QB than A&M has come anything close to. Not that "deserve" has much to do with recruiting, of course.

Anyway, we'll see. I could see Moore winding up at Michigan or OSU, but the way he has approached his recruitment thus far it'd be a big swerve to go visit A&M, get dollar signs in his eyes, and commit there. He seems more grounded than that. Of course, these are unprecedented times and we're talking about a 16 year old, so who knows anymore.

I think we may be in a scenario where we're asking ourselves "What came first, the chicken or the egg?" Does the elite QB come before success, or must we have success before the elite QB comes? We've struck out on a program changing QB for awhile. We've had plenty of talent come in, but for whatever reason they either didn't pan out or the other pieces weren't in place at the time. Alabama and Ohio State figured out how to win the big games without the stud QB first, then they started bringing in the big talent which set them up for continued success.

Other programs have figured out how to win the big bowls without a program changing QB, I feel like we've got to quit fumbling on those stages so we can prove our worth. Expecting the very best QBs to come to South Bend without proof we can win the big bowls just seems folly. You're asking 16-18 year olds with real NFL aspirations and ability to take a chance at ruining their careers if things don't pan out here, when most are probably going to find an established QB breeder like Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio State, etc.

I think the elite qb comes first. Look at Clemson. A relatively similarly situated program. Middle of nowhere. Has a big name. So bad in big games their name became a vowel "Clemsoning." But they got Watson and they started winning those games

I looked it up, very impressive claims.

I'd need to record my Shelby's exhaust and blast it over the stereo though before I'd buy one.

Actually Kelly Bryant was the guy who "righted" the ship in Clemson. Watson and TL just took the ships to new oceans.

says the guy who thinks real cars are dead

The future for them is. The development money for ICE platforms has been gutted in the past year with some manufacturers halting all future development of ICE models.

I'm cool with it. We live in electric car nirvana... the most sun & largest nuclear plant in the US.

You mean Tajh Boyd, but yes, kind of. Watson was the one that broke them through their “Consistently 10-Win” ceiling.

Thought about roasting him but we all knew what he meant. The years pass by and we slip a bit

they should produce that on game day and make it the turn over seat. Or is that too cheesy?

I like the idea, but it should be expanded to "drive ending" plays.
Touchdown, turnover, third down sacks, pancake block on a scoring play, etc.
Gets more players involved.

Prister said on the Friday pod he still expects Moore to sign with ND in December, OVs elsewhere notwithstanding
