Koon and Pat were the exact same sort of poster. Here's how I described them 6.5 years ago in the mod forum:

A dim but mostly genuine member posts a lot as a way to cope with his anxiety about the team. His constant need for reassurance is annoying, so others accuse of him being a troll. But his earnestness also endears him to certain members, who end up defending him/ egging him on. So he creates a trollish online persona by accident, and then others motivate him to inhabit it intentionally.

Guys like Pat and Koon either get mistaken for trolls and banned early, or they stick around long enough to become trolls for real.

I want to look up the Pat thing, but my recollection was that Koon was bragging to people about how he helped Pat get around his ban (even though it basically just entails making a new account and using a VPN). Then one of those people messaged the mods saying “hey this dumbass just told me…” because he actually did not like Koon or Pat and wanted to make sure Pat stayed off the site. Koon got a temp ban.

Best thing about Koon:
The fake Hiestand Twitter that was genuinely hilarious.

Worst thing about Koon:
The ~2 year period of time when he reported more posts than everyone else on the site combined and whined constantly to moderators to ban people/delete posts *while simultaneously going on rants about “free speech” and pretending that he wanted people to be able to speak their mind*. That was by far his most annoying thing to me because it was so disingenuous.

He created a new email, new user name and a part of a profile, the whole enchilada. Made himself out to be a Razorback fan in Wisconsin. IP address was from Minnesota I believe but was different from his previous iterations it seems.

He didn't need to get a new IP. DuckDuckGo hides your IP or he could use a VPN to hide it.
