EJ thought Michigan was going to sneak in and steal him after the coaching change. Love that we have the best player in Michigan coming to play for MFMF

Being told her could play Vyper. Mentioned this before but if the goal is to move from 4 down to 3 down without substitutions, Burnham as a Vyper to Will LB makes a ton of sense. Showed up 6’4 215. We’ll see

Would be an interesting development. At some point that vyper role is going to have to play in space more.

As a side note, not sure I am completely sold on the 3 down front yet. ND had mixed results with it in 2021, however when Cincy played Georgia a few years ago when Freeman was there, it was very effective. Perhaps personnel just needs to fit to scheme?

Definitely a personnel issue + experience in scheme.

Needs bigger MLB's with in-scheme experience, needs Okwara / Hayes types at small end.

Freeman is an evolutionary tweak on the Patterson-Kwiatkowski 5 DB scheme.

This year we get the roll out of the Sniper where the prospect below, who started as a 5-9/175 RB as a Soph, becomes the leading tackler on one of CFB's elite D's:

I remember in the Georgia game that the front 7 was so disruptive, both DL and LBs alike. JT Daniels couldn't get yards either. Like you said just need to have more system experience.

There is a glut of athletic potential at LB. Burnham and his classmates add to an already strong group, can't wait to see who emerges.

I'd love to see Kollie take MLB. Can any of the frosh LBs take a spot?

Love this idea. I think that makes the most sense because it maximizes his athleticism. His best position could be a 3-4 OLB so Vyper is a great fit especially at his size. And it frees up Kollie, JR, Ziegler, and Sneed to fight for the other LB spots.

So does the Sniper replace the Rover in the base defense?

I'm not sure how it will play out down the road. My guess is the "base" D probably changes from year to year based on who your best 11 are. If Sneed becomes a JOK level Rover, then the Sniper might be situational. If he had Jerel White on this year's team with Kiser as the top Rover then maybe White's on the field more and Kiser moves inside?

I didn't follow Cincy close enough to see the substitution flow and I'm trying to guesstimate how Freeman's scheme compares to the Patterson - Kwiatkowski 3-3-5 variations.

Good to see the video that will be referenced every time a WR has a drop.

I'm beginning to wonder if soft/weak hands make you a better pass catcher? Would explain Greathouse's grip being weaker than some of the rest while catching almost everything in his vicinity.

Your hands need to be tender, and able to move, and caress the ball.

That reminds me of the Stephen King Gunslinger mantra...

I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.

I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.

I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart

Yeah yeah yeah

And Ka is like a wheel.

He totally screwed us with the end of that whole series. It started so well:
"The man in black fled across the desert.
And the gunslinger followed."

How it ended...man he predated GRR Martin in terms of disappointing a fan base.
The Gunslinger and Wizard & Glass are the only 2 that I read more than once...maybe Drawing of the 3. Everything else is forgettable or actively shit mit schlagg

I stopped at drawing of the 3, but it's not like King wasn't churning out a plethora of great stories.
Martin has become comfortable with the TV ending, cause what he was trying to do is hard. No doubt he dies before he finishes the series like robert jordan.
