I'm wandering if anything else exposed in these emails will have a hard time getting any play. The "unfair to Bernie" thing resonates with ultra left...the fact that it resonates with most fair-minded folks is an ancillary benefit.

I have seen coverage of the "Is Trump a Racist" article, and lots of words dedicated to the Trump-Russia connection related to the e-mail dump.

DWS is guilty of playing dirty politics behind the scenes. Does anyone really believe the Democrats will stop playing dirty with her ouster? The Republicans were guilty of doing pretty much the same thing in an attempt to keep Trump from being the nominee. Does anyone really believe the Republicans are not continuing to play dirty politics?

If you want to get rid of this **** then you'll have to do away with political parties. Both parties were faced with primary candidates who were not really members of their party. The Republicans had Trump, and who knows what his beliefs are? The Democrats had Sanders, a 30-year independent, who suddenly became a Democrat in order to run for president. Is it any wonder the politicians behind the scenes were doing all they could to prevent these non-party members from winning in the primaries?

Anyone shocked by dirty politics hasn't been following presidential elections for very long. As the campaigns get closer to election day, the lies and speculation of wrong-doing will escalate on both sides. A good deal of what we hear from both sides will be out right lies. That's what politicians of all persuasions do best. And since lying works, they continue to do it. I still wish I had a choice on election day of "None of the Above". I think "None of the Above" would win in a landslide.

So, like every election recently, unless you live in Pennsylvania, Ohio, or Florida your vote doesn't matter. The electoral college system is so stupid.

Michael more makes a few valid points - (spot on is a bit of a stretch). The electoral college metrics are good debate - Don't need Florida if you take WI, MI, PA and OH.... well that would be a pretty big game changer. Blue collar appeal could be enough to make that happen - NAFTA being a huge villain in OH/MI. Coal in PA/OH. Immigration fears in those isolated areas.

The problem... Milwaukee is well known for putting out more votes than registered voters. Philly I can see doing the same thing. There are some big problems in those areas. Trump has to do a lot of work to get those folks to stay home and stay "depressed" instead of voting five times. That is not to say they can't still get the ballot boxes stuffed.

I agree with this. That's not to say that at some point, in some time, there aren't examples of Republicans doing shady shit. It's just that in this moment, LAX nailed it. This is all DNC shenanigans.

The R's way of dirty politics against Trump was to make fun of his tiny hands. Good work. Meanwhile, DWS/DNC/HRC/Mainstream Media colluded to basically throw kitchen sink after kitchen sink at Bernie.

I am a big John Oliver fan but last night's episode wasn't very funny. The song at the end was particularly awful.

So true. And I'll add that when I was in Europe for a few weeks last month, I was shocked at the amount of American news on television. Contrast that to mainstream news here, where the only foreign affairs we typically see are either tragedies or directly impact the United States somehow.

Not looking to excuse ignorance of international affairs, but you'd have found a similarly insular focus on domestic issues in previous empires. Just comes with the territory of being the global hegemon. Imperial citizens don't care much about what's happening in the provinces.

The disappearance of objective journalism is a product of our increasing political polarization. Since there's no such thing as a view from nowhere, the only way journalism can appear unbiased is if it comes from "the middle"-- that common ground shared by all citizens. The American middle has not held, so there's no more objective journalism.

I don't personally care.

I do, however, think there is a chunk of Independent voters out there who think that portions of the media are much tougher on the GOP than on the Dems (the Clinton email leaks are helping this), and immediately dismiss a left-leaning liberal going on a political rant. Even if it's just for comedic purposes, it can be seen as more "proof" that the media is stacking the deck for Hillary.

Trump's numbers noticeably went up after Oliver's Drumpf rant. I don't think that was a coincidence.
