But there's no bad day for tequila, am I right?

Tequila is the shot that put me over on my 21st. Since that day, I've only ever been able to have it in Margarita form.

But no, I guess there isn't.

Very well connected poster on another site had some positive things to say about this recruitment. ND is making a lot of headway with the parents. ND staff is very happy where they stand.

I'm an optimist, but I see us coming in with a solid #2 finish.

The poster from ISD is well respected. I'm feeling more at ease, but not yet optimistic.

With recent news about Wills I'm hoping big for Sarell or Snith. PLEASE let us have one of these boys!

I could see him possibly getting some play time but not.starting.

Yeah. You're probably right. I think of Steve Elmer...being our 6th man swing guy type but we just have SO MUCH talent in front of him. The trio we got last year was REALLY special. Anyways, we haven't gotten him yet but I have a strong gut feeling we land Sarell. He came out to II for 3-4 days with his parents and maybe coach/coaches. I saw a pic of him somewhere in SB with McGlinchey and Bivin. He is an academic guy. We've been planting OL in the NFL, in early rounds mind you, consistently. I just think he's coming to ND.

Ah yes, the boundless enthusiasm of those new to IE. Give it another recruiting cycle and that myopic view you have will have been purged from your innocent soul.

Lol so true. I've sat back and watched it for years now. Recruiting will beat down your enthusiasm and sanguine outlook.

I'm no newby. I've been on this site daily for years. I've just recently decided to get involved but I was hesitant for a long time because of certain attitudes on here. Those worries of mine are starting to surface. I think we have a good chance to land Sarell. And that's fine to think that.

Just giving you a hard time, man. If you've been around as long as you say you have, you should understand that happens a lot on here. Mods do a good job of making sure things don't get carried away, but the banter is part of the fun, embrace it.

As far as Sarell, I'm cautiously optimistic here. I think he's looking for a real reason to leave the West Coast and ND is giving him a lot to think about.

I've spent time with that poster, as he knows several of the ISD guys, and man, he is about as connected as I've been around to the dynamics of the entire university, and with that, the football team. He knows several players very well and several coaches as well. While that poster absolutely loves ND and wears his ND glasses strong, he is not prone to hyperbole, so when I heard this on ISD (even if Sarrell doesn't come in the end), the info is 1000% legit so there is room for more optimism than before.

I'm at watershed, a country music festival in Washington. Saw Foster hanging with his friends and enjoying himself. Same kid you see in the videos out in public. Most probably expect that but thought I'd share. Really down to earth kid

But you didn't ask him where he's going to college and strongly encourage Notre Dame?

I re-watched his film again and I still see an all American guard, not a tackle.

But what do I know about film evaluation.

I agree. With that said, he blew up (even more if possible)at OT, at The Opening and you have to give him credit for that. When I watch those videos, I see a power player that manhandles guys . I don't see the footwork and athleticism that makes a 5 star LT. JMO. Love the kid, just don't see what everyone else does.

100% agree with everything you said. He dominated at LT at the opening, which has made him the number 1 prospect overall. Saying that I also see a mauler that doesn't have the footwork needed to be an elite LT. But again what do I know about evaluating film.

I respect your guys opinions, but put me on the other side. He's my favorite tackle in the class and I have a hard time seeing a guy like him at guard. He's 6'7" with long arms and a motor.

I also don't see his feet being a problem. But I also think every high school player has work to do with their feet and obviously Longo would cut him up.

I'm with you. Feet concerned me a little watching film, but he's not Elmer-levels of concerning. Also, that would have to be chalked up as a first for me seeing a 6'7 long-armed guard. Shoot, Elmer and now Bivin are more Tackle-like in physical makeup.
