I don't know if they ever offer unless they want to see him at center? He's short for HH, he's huge weight wise and if they are tearing Q down and rebuilding him... they'd need a demolition permit for Big E.
He's obviously been Indiana's #1 recruit in '18 since day one and was a top 5 by offer nationally from the beginning too. He had more offers than anyone in '17 early on except HJ and he didn't trail by much. He actually had more offers than anyone form '16 except, Brandon Peters, Austin Mack and Auston Robertson.
ND's had to offer around him while evaluating him recruiting him. They've done that while he has received 24 FBS offers which is currently 3rd most among any offensive lineman in the class. From the time he was on ND's radar, ND was introduced to Pete Werner who they offered and received a commitment from. They were introduced to his classmate Markese Stepp who they have offered and expect a commitment from. They are now actively recruiting another classmate, Hugh Davis who they invited to II with the intention of offering if he impresses while they have stayed on the sidelines with him, did not invite to II and now are getting him into their lineman's camp afterwards for more evaluation. It's a strange as in unique scenario.
I'm not disagreeing with the staff at this time. Maybe A&M, Ole Miss, UGa, FSU, PSU, Aub, Tenn, OU, MSU and Michigan are wrong. He was mentioned as 6-4 early on, then it was 6-3 and now he's 6-2. There are plenty of bada$$ 6-2 centers but HH likes 'em long as a rule. So maybe he's that talented to get an offer in spite of his length. We'll see. I'm hoping he does because Cathedral is going to keep moving up the ranks of the Indy schools. Next year they will be the best team in the state and they might have finally forced the Catholic school football model used in Chicago, Cincy and Cleveland onto Indy where the best are brought into the program yearly. That makes it that much easier for ND to skim the cream off the top every cycle.
Some like to still drag on Diaco for his supposed height requirements on defense. Offer the studs.
