So the bruising magically appears? Anyone at Baylor who had even the slightest involvement or knowledge of this and didn't report it needs to be gone.

Couldn't agree more... I get we live in an era of MUST WIN FOOTBALL, but what kind of human beings, has this girl reach out to them, scared, worried for her safety, trying to go to the coaches or admin and tell them what is going on and they just ignore it...

It's going to be amazing to witness how quickly Baylor goes from "Competitive and Talented" to "Trash Once Again."

They might be decent this year if they stay healthy. But they will have no depth after '16 is done with. They're going to go back into the sh*tter post-Briles if they don't make an amazing hire... and I don't think Baylor is a school that can support another miracle hire like Briles was, unless someone is reallllllly enticed by the idea of "Power Conference."

I know this isn't the most important aspect of this whole thing, by a lot, but I'm interested in it as well... I'm curious to see who their next real hire is and how that goes, they just built that new stadium and invested a lot of money, I doubt they just clap their hands and go away.

Looks like there is more. From an article on si.com

A student at Baylor University has come forward to allege that she was sexually assaulted by a current football player at the school.

The woman, who is identified as “Ally” by KCEN TV, said the assault took place in spring of 2014 while she was a freshman at Baylor. Ally said she fears retaliation from the player’s friends and family members.

“I agreed to kiss him, I didn’t think that from that it would escalate to him being on top of me and completely disregarding anything that was coming out of my mouth,” Ally said.

According to KCEN TV’s report, Ally walked home after the incident, went to bed and woke up screaming. A friend took her to the on-campus health clinic the following morning.

Ally said she did not want the words “rape” or “rape-kit” on her medical record, so the doctor recorded it as a standard office visit and gave her information on pregnancy and STDs.

“I wanted, I guess, guidance and more information on what I could do besides, ‘Here’s to make sure you're not pregnant, here’s to make sure you don't have STDs,’ and that never solved the problem that was still out there, the potential danger for other girls,” Ally said.

Ally also added that she feels the “football” aspect of the situation prevented her from initially going public about the alleged assault.

Ally’s allegation comes amid reports that Baylor mishandled a number of sexual assault cases and the firing of head football coach Art Briles.

On Tuesday, a former Baylor student who accused ex-Baylor running back Devin Chafin of assault said that Briles and other members of the team’s coaching staff were aware of the allegations.

Baylor said it will not release a full written version of the Pepper Hamilton report that describes the university’s handling of sexual assault allegations because the original report was delivered orally.

I was going to say Baylor is probably feeling pretty grateful for all the Stanford talk recently, taking some media heat off them...only to wind back up in the news today for more allegations. Baylor will not be upstaged!

Got this off the Shag
Thread on rivals main board saying the same. Do it Baylor.

"I was just told this by a big donor at Baylor that the top 5 big donors (John Eddy Williams, Drake McLane and others) gathered the top 25 donors for Baylor and they all signed a petition saying they will not give Baylor another $1 if Art Briles in fired.

Briles has been suspended but not fired according to this source.

The proposal is Briles is suspended a year w/ pay and his paycheck goes to charities of rape victims none to Briles. Briles must attend complete several Title 9 classes throughout the year.

2017 Briles would return as head coach of the Baylor Bears.

The board voted this week to terminate Briles 18-15. They will re-vote next week."

Don't doubt it for a second, but there is absolutely no way in hell they would have him back. The negative PR shitstorm is already bad enough.

In the shadow of the Brock Turner incident, there is literally zero chance of this happening.

Plus, Baylor, and possibly Briles himself, may be wrapped in legal issues for a while.

I could see Baylor retaining Briles. Not saying the rumors are true about the year long suspension, but they could be banking on the fact that all media shit storms eventually subside. I mean, Penn State really fucked up bad too, but even they're out of sanctions now. I'm guessing if the rumors are true they figure Briles will right the ship sooner than a new coach will, and they stand to retain their roster better if the guy that got them winning is the one that remains in charge. This will surely follow him the rest of his life, but maybe Baylor is desperate enough to pull this move to prevent falling back into obscurity.

Arnaud Amalric 1209

Haven't we talked about this a couple of times earlier?

While discussions were still going on with the barons about the release of those in the city who were deemed to be Catholics, the servants and other persons of low rank and unarmed attacked the city without waiting for orders from their leaders. To our amazement, crying "to arms, to arms!", within the space of two or three hours they crossed the ditches and the walls and Béziers was taken. Our men spared no one, irrespective of rank, sex or age, and put to the sword almost 20,000 people. After this great slaughter the whole city was despoiled and burnt . . .

Good old Arnaud was named grand inquisitor by Pope Innocent III, charged with killing all Cathars in the Abegensian Crusade. (The largest of all, and the only one that never left Europe.) In this incident Amalric may have stirred up his foot soldiers, and threw up his hands stating something akin to "What's an inquisitor to do?"

What was the Cathars great heresy, that everyone need be put to death?
. . . calling for a return to the Christian message of perfection, poverty and preaching. The reforms were a reaction against the often scandalous and dissolute lifestyles of the Catholic clergy in southern France. Their theology was basically dualist.

Money vs Integrity.

The whole BS excuse of not having a Title IX coordinator is jaw dropping.... as if someone needed to tell Briles that continuing to have a roster littered with players accused of sexual assualt is a bad thing. After all the scathing articles, does Baylor really have the balls to stand up there and keep him?

They know how pathetic their program will be without him. If they pull it off maybe they save some of the current recruits too.
However, I think it's wrong in so many ways.

Two decades ago when it became public that Bama head coach Mike DuBose was having an affair with his secretary, a reporter asked a Bama Board of Trustees member if DuBose would be fired. The Trustee replied, "At Alabama, it's all about "W"s and the "W" doesn't stand for women!".

It's a new millennium but to a lot of boosters, "W" still doesn't stand for women.

He was actually "suspended with the intent to terminate" so he hasn't technically been fired yet.

I haven't followed this as closely as most obviously, mainly because the whole thing is too depressing and frustrating but damn...
