A lot of talent at QB at ND. We have all been craving this for years. Remember when Kelly played something like 7 QB's in one year at Cincinnati

And pretty much all of them were successful? That was pretty cool.

And your point is...?

Combine / camps are worthless?

Dilfer and his staff do a poor job identifying talent?

Dilfer and his staff do a sh!t job evaluating talent?

Elite 11 QB's peak too early?

Elite 11 QB's pick the wrong schools/staffs to further their development?

My point? Really? I don't have a point just throwing out some worthless information.

Great example not like he had to sit behind Hundley or Rosen was coming in.

Well if he won the elite 11 and that is the end all be all to prove you are the best high school QB, then he should have beat out Hundley and an incoming true freshman Rosen. He didn't even beat Neuheisel's son.

Great example urself! He said two deep u named starters, who weren't there at same time. So if u can name both of those guys back ups that made the cut over him ur example would hold some weight.

You remember that kid from Florida who went to UCLA and won the elite 11 a few years back? Couldn't even make the two deep at UCLA and I think transferred to USF.

Yeah I couldn't remember his name either...

At the time he wasn't even a QB recruit, he was a WR who had filled in at QB for his HS squad because he was such a good athlete.

Dilfer adored him.

It was 4 QB's haha. And the fourth QB only took 4 reps before BK decided to play Chazz Anderson and preserve Zach Collaros's redshirt.

Yes. Chazz Anderson playing serviceable quarterback at UC in 2008 would be like if MVG came in and ran the offense effectively for multiple games without a noticeable drop-off.

Great passer. Incredibly quick release. Very fast feet along with good footwork. Good ball placement and passing fundamentals. Seems to have decent arm strength. With a year or two of maturing more physically and hitting the weights his arm strength will increase, not to say it isn't good now but in the college game, you need to throw rockets. I LOVE our QB situation right now from Zaire all the way down to Jurkovec.

It almost seems like his arm throws the ball out like a Ballista horizontally, whereas someone like Kizer releases the ball above his head.

I have a hard time not seeing that ball not being batted down at the next level.

It's funny to read that people like his "quick release", as it's probably gonna be the first thing BK changes with him. His lack of velocity is because of his mechanics, not strength. I mean... Look at him, kid has pipes.

The last thing he needs is a quick release...

As a slot receiver, the long catch is much more desirable.

Just wait and see.

Throws like a baseball catcher

His mechanics certainly need some tidying up but he will certainly have a few years at ND to work on that. He definitely does not have a high release right now, and a bit of an unorthodox throwing motion, but it is a very quick release and he seems to deliver the ball really well and with really good timing. Being 5'11 and playing at the college level, he'll need to get that ball up and this will take a LOT of repetition but I'm confident Sanford and Kelly will get that fixed up. His tape looks good and seems like a great kid in interviews and man oh man can he ever do damage with his feet. We're going to have a really unique mix of styles of quarterbacks. It's gonna be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

I agree. He throws an accurate, pretty ball. He's not a "great passer". Additionally, the college game doesn't require the rockets that the NFL does. Guys like Geno Smith, Tim Tebow, Kellan Moore, Case Keenum and Johnny Manziel all slayed in college. None of them had elite arm strength.

Thank you for taking the time to articulate what I was too lazy to do so myself.

I like you so far but I disagree with you here. He's not a great passer and has never known to be one. Great with under neath stuff but he doesn't have a great arm. People need to remember they are sometimes watching highlight tapes, they are suppose to look good. Avery Davis is a gamer and will help ND win games but he has some things to change when it comes to throwing the football.

Is there any actual words that back up a potential position switch? Or is it just IE jibber jabber

Fundamentals need a good bit of work, but I like what he does under pressure. I also like that he's a flexible athlete. If he can't stick at QB, then I can see him move to another spot and have a not-so-difficult transition there. Unlike Golson, he's fast and athletic enough to do that.

Purely jibber jabber. He's expected to come in and compete at QB, but with Jurkovec on board and Wimbush redshirting, he'll have a lot of competition.

Golson was a superior prospect compared to Davis and might not be as fast but he was just as athletic. Golson was a hell of a basketball player and could have walked on at UNC. I don't understand this post Sean. If he's not a qb imo he's not a prospect anywhere else. No one has ever seen this guy run a route yet we have people talking about a change on here like it would work.
