It only takes 20,000 people a night to make it work. It's hockey country. People grow up playing because the cities are frozen 8 months a year.

Cleveland is football country. I grew up in NE Ohio and no one cared about hockey. It was football, football, and maybe baseball.

I went to Miami. All the hockey players on my floor were from Cleveland. St Iggy's, St Eddy's, Shaker.

I just looked up the state tournament brackets from this year. 4 brackets. 2 of the brackets were Cleveland / NE Ohio. There's plenty of hockey going on in Cleveland to support a team.

You must be older than me... and I'm up there.

Yeah it's coming back for sure. Iggy is a powerhouse. Some of the better players I ever played with were guys that got cut by Ignatius. The club team I played with is actually being reabsorbed by the school it started with, VASJ, because so many students are playing hockey again.

I think an NHL team could work here if the team that we would be getting was somewhat good. There is a surprising amount of buzz right now about the Monsters.

The reason Cleveland 'doesn't care' is bc they've never had reason to.... An NHL team would be a great fit imo... They could replace that lame ass basketball team and no one would notice............

Just keep all four. It increases our odds of actually winning something. Also I think it would be cool to have them all have the same color. I hate Pittsburgh as much as anyone but I have to admit that all their teams sharing colors is pretty sweet.

Cleveland already tried the NHL. Didn't they have a team named the Barons? Don't think they lasted very long.

Pretty sure any pro-sports team would have the following of entire NE Ohio. If it bares the Cleveland name, people will come.

I think even a bad team would work there. Even last place Columbus in a non-hockey town sold 80% of their tickets. More NFL teams have 100% attendance for the year than the NBA, 13-9.

The NHL is set up perfectly to add you guys. The East has 8 teams per division, the West has 7. Ship the Red Wings back to the West with the Hawks where they belong and Cleveland goes to the Metro with the Pens and the BJ's... replacing the Canes, who go to the Atlantic where they belong.

In the West you send the Avs out to the Pacific where they belong, while the Wings and the Milwaukee team join the Central.

I don't care what Cleveland calls their team but in order for Milwaukee to get a team they must be named the Curds. Frozen chesse on ice baby. I hate them already!

That was not because of a lack of fan support. They were a long time AHL team that became an NHL team and then merged with the North Stars.

In any case, relocation is only rarely about fan support- it often has to do with the vanity and/or incompetence of the team's owner, as Browns fans well know. Being from CT, I can also point to the Whalers' move as principally the result of the owner's stupidity.

Yeah. Back in the 70's, the Gund's bought the California Seals when the Bay wouldn't get them a new arena. The Baron's lasted a few years until Gund again couldn't get a stadium deal done and merged with the North Stars. Those were different days. The NHL is booming now and will never turn back.

So the Cavs kill it tonight and win game 3... just to get everyone's hopes up... I see no other way.

I'm thinking a comprehensive beatdown delivered by King James. He might get a triple double tonight.

I'll bet you all your vbucks that the Warriors win.

*Disclaimer: I think the Warriors will "purposely" lose either game 3 or game 4 so that they win the championship on their home court. However, I am hoping I am wrong about that.

Man, I hope you are right. However, how they have performed in the first two games gives me little hope of that happening. The "home court" thing really seems to effect the CAVs good and bad.

I accept this challenge. I'm unfamiliar with how we proceed. Cleveland wins game 3.

Your current vbucks = 1,632,445,284.21

If Warriors win, you send those to me. If Cavs win, I send that amount to you.

Yeah they are bottom of the league in attendance last I saw, under 20k a game on average... that sucks for any team, but they actually have a good team this year so idk....
