But don't we know that he did commit to Baylor and does like ND? He said it was his favorite visit.

Baylor was a non-entity until 4 years ago. They still don't get many recruits we would poach.

And most schools' classes have lots of kids that would not be great fits at ND.

I'm not saying a Baylor commit is incapable of fitting in at ND. I'm saying I'm skeptical. Everyone relax lol.

Hell our own classes include guys that end up not being fits.

So Hezekiah, he's pretty good.

He may be talented but he's not a GKIrish Kind of Guy aka a GKIKG. Don't want until he takes a sabbatical to the natural hot springs of Greece and cleanses himself of his Baylor verbal commitment and all the atrocities that come with it.

All in good fun GKIrish, I understand the point you were making.

Feels like we're actually going to get some real players from Texas this year. We always talk about recruiting success in Texas, but in the BK era, is it really? Off of the top of my beautiful mind, for one reason or another:

- Blankership - bust
- Kolin Hill - bust
- Nick Watkins - show me something
- Baratti - bust
- Jaylon Guyton - bust
- Corey Robinson - meh

Smyth and Hunter JR are the only ones who've done anything on the field for us. Maybe Watkins will, we'll see.

Cam McDaniel was handsome.

Cam McDaniel was handsome.

And a stealer of carries. But good call. There's very little production from that group above, and 90% of it is from Hunter Jr and McDaniel, and even they haven't done/or did anything spectacular at ND. I don't think this group combined has gained us a win over the years. Time to step up, Texas. Start with 2017.

Hunter Jr has done more for ND football than the rest of the group combined IMO, and he has 35 career catches for 3 TDs. I personally don't think Cam's career 1,100 yards and 8 TDs has helped ND win any more than Hunter has, because I believe any of the backups would have had Cam's production and then some, but he was the favorite pup in the litter. Hunter's role this past year actually filled a need and impacted the team.

ND got a second crystal ball today - Loy is no longer alone. The other five are for Texas A&M, but they are all older picks.

Hard to call a guy a bust that was never healthy. Just saying.

Bad post, Koon.

Blankenship is the only true bust on that entire list. Guyton got kicked out, Baratti got injury plagued. Kolin Hill was a fill in 2:s: and/or low 3:s: prospect... so he certainly played at the level he was supposed to before leaving. Watkins wasn't recruited for the system.

Robinson was a quasi-starter before injuries/concussions despite being a low 3:s: recruit. Smythe is a starter. And Hunter is the best WR on the team. So 3 out of 8 players recruited from the state were starters... and when you go back to KLM, McDaniel, etc. those are some other solid players.

I said for one reason or another were a bust, meaning transfers, quitting, etc. We can divide up the categories all we want, but the bottom line is the production from Texas so far has been bad. Time for Texas to step up for ND and I think it'll finally start with the 2017 class.

Can we stop beating up on gk? He brought up some valid points, engaged and then decided that it was best to just leave it. Let's just talk about how good Hezekiah is and how baller his name is.

To be fair, Jones committed to Baylor about a year ago. I was only vaguely aware of the problems a year ago. Now....completely different.

Will be interestin to see his next move. Does he stay hush and give the school time to get a big hire? Does he decommit and open it up and take 7 visits to oklahoma?

You think that Smyth has done more on the field for the team than Corey Robinson? Are you shitting me, or are you just high?

This. I wouldn't trade Corey's contribution for the sum of all the Kelly era Texans up to this day. I'm confident Hunter will eclipse Corey's totals this year but Corey did his thing in '14. All things considered, he was the #2 WR.

Super high.

Corey had a better 2014 than I remember, with 40 catches and 5 TDs. Settle down.

Not sure I want a kid that committed to Baylor. No italics.

Staff really wants him and I really want him. He committed to Baylor forever ago, we flip a lot of kids who had nothing similar to their previous school like ND. I don't understand this. We've landed some recruits who have considered Baylor as well

As wooly mentioned, there are so many examples of ND players who committed to or seriously considered other schools. Guys like Nix, Nick Martin, Folston, and Fuller have been successful on and off the field at ND.

This. Folston almost committed to Auburn on signing day for fu*ks sake.

That's like saying we shouldn't have recruited Wimbush because he was once committed to the child molesters at Penn State.

I know Jones is a consensus top 200 player, but watching his tape again I think he is underrated and should be a top 100 player. I love Black and OSB, but I put this kid right up there with them.

He's #79 on ESPN and #109 on Rivals. They agree with you.
