Ankle sprain per Kelly.

Q. Brian, just wondering if you had any further clarity on Quenton. Do you think he will be able to practice this week, chances of being available on Saturday?

Brian Kelly: He's got an ankle sprain and he's in a boot today and we'll see how that progresses. We've got to get the pain out of there and see how it responds. We're not going to -- we're not going to put a tag on him until tomorrow relative to questionable, doubtful, probable. It's just too early, right? It's only like 12 hours after the game. We'll probably be able to get a better sense, but he's in a walking boot until we get that stabilized and then have a better sense of whether he's going to be able to make it for this weekend.

Would rather see him rest this week and suit up Bars. Bars should be able to dominate the undersized Navy linemen.

Jerell Adams | TE, senior, South Carolina
The blocking tight end is nearing extinction, but Adams is a throwback in that department. His +13.0 run blocking grade leads the nation, and he’s doing it the old-school way: in-line against top edge rushers. He’s had some back-and-forth battles with Georgia’s Jordan Jenkins and Missouri’s Charles Harris in recent weeks, coming out on top more often than not. While he hasn’t had many chances in the passing game (12 catches for 164 yards), he’s flashed big-play ability, whether catching a post route for a touchdown against Kentucky, or running through Georgia defenders to pick up a first down in Week 3.

Joe Schobert | 3-4 OLB, senior, Wisconsin
An under-the-radar edge rusher, Schobert has had an outstanding start to the season with nine sacks, five hits, and eight hurries on only 71 pass rushes. His fourth quarter against Iowa in Week 5 was as good as you’ll see, as he picked up two sacks, including a strip sack, while forcing another fumble in the run game. Despite the loss for Wisconsin, he did everything he could to keep them in it. Schobert is another player we had high hopes for coming into the season, after he graded at +30.1 a year ago, including +19.8 as a pass rusher.

Cory Johnson | DT, senior, Kentucky
Johnson was on our radar as a player who looked ready to break out coming into 2015. Last season, he was incredibly productive in his limited time, posting a +14.2 pass rushing grade on only 126 snaps. He’s continued his strong play in an expanded role for the Wildcats this season, grading at +20.0 with an impressive +13.3 grade against the run. He’s also picked up three sacks, a hit, and five hurries on his 126 rushes for a strong +5.1 pass rush grade, so keep an eye on Johnson as the SEC schedule heats up for Kentucky.

Quenton Nelson | G, redshirt freshman, Notre Dame
After ranking as the No. 5 offensive tackle in the 247 Sports composite rankings in 2014, Nelson is living up to that hype in the early going of his “redshirt freshman” season (he’s a sophomore in Notre Dame’s world). Nelson is playing left guard for the Fighting Irish, and leading all guards from that recruiting class with a +11.8 overall grade, including a +8.1 mark in the run game. That’s the part that’s been most impressive about Nelson: the power he’s brought to the Irish line, but also his ability to make blocks in space at 6-foot-4-inches, 325 pounds. He’s also been sound in pass protection, surrendering only two hurries on 143 attempts, both of which came back in Week 1 against Texas.

"Q" is a force. Most saw it. He makes the middle beastly.

Ironically, the coaches decision to start him over Alex was sound. Alex is an outside man, clearly Stanley's replacement.

Also, this line is so good that guys like Bars will get plenty of playing time in meaningful minutes.

Things look bright for the offensive line.

Two experienced road graders at guard for next year.

Mustipher or Hodge at center!

A behemoth at one tackle with a little over a years starting experience, and Bars at the other, who Kelly said is clearly one of a kind, top shelf!

Bivin might have a say at replacing Stanley next year also.

Hopefully, but that will take Hunter moving his game forward. From what I have seen both of those cats are good tackles, but Bars has incredible footwork, and a little more foot speed.

Hunter as of spring in particular was a little slow and unsure, so his feet would get him in trouble on the edge, and his hands would try to get him out.

With as fast as McGlinchey is, I would think he moves to left if Bars doesn't secure that position. Hell, they may do that anyway!

The kid is just a nasty blocker. I would be shocked if he wasn't a starter for 8+ years in the league, with maybe a Pro Bowl or two in there. More if he goes to a big market.

I'll be very interested to see just how good he is this year. I expect him to be really good but interested to see if he is "best OG in the country" kind of good. Wouldn't put it past him.

I think so, though a behemoth like Q would be better suited to something like a battleaxe or warhammer.
I thought the Morningstar was meant to be wielded like a hammer but far deadlier?

It's just a spiked club. And yes, it would have been more effective than a blunt mace, though I prefer to imagine Q crushing people with his freakish strength.

OK so I'm gonna say this out loud. Q looks svelte in that vid. I mean... tacklesque.

How's he ever gonna make it on Sunday's with out a Guard-Gut?
