Three years in a row. Being a colts fan, I find myself watching Nelson all the time. He still runs down to pick up the RB, keeps looking for a second guy to level and plays until the whistle. Love the big teddy bear.

We know that Indianapolis Colts left guard Quenton Nelson is a special player, but some of his accomplishments are being done at a historic level.

Nelson has been named a First-Team All-Pro in each of his first three seasons. The only other player to do so in the last 30 years is former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders.

My man joins a pretty elite club.

Listening To Doug Gottlieb yesterday. Had former All Pro Will Shields on the radio. When asked if he pays particular attention to certain players, he mentioned Big Q.

Pro Football Focus rated their top 50 players currently in the NFL. They ranked our man Quenton at #4!

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff50-ranking-50-best-players-nfl-2021

According to PFF WAR, Nelson was the most valuable offensive lineman in the NFL last season. And the season before that.

Nelson plays offensive guard, a significantly less valuable position than tackle, but that tells you just how good he is at his current position. Nelson has now allowed just three sacks in his three NFL seasons and finished 2020 with 15 total pressures allowed across the full regular season and wild-card game. If anything, Nelson is an even better run-blocker, making him one of the best players in the game, period.

Zack Martin was ranked 13 and Harrison Smith 32.

Harrison Smith is one of the most underrated safeties of all time IMO.

I was wondering how he would stack against Troy Polamalu and how he would be considered if he had won a Super Bowl. Surprisingly quite well:
Troy: 783 tackles in 158 games
Harrison: 747 tackles in just 130 games.
Harrison has 1 more TD on 4 less INTs.
Troy has 107 pass deflections to 66 for Harrison, so he has him there by quite a bit still (Or are QBs avoiding Harrison?!)
Harrison has more than twice as many QB hits at 31, Troy has twice as many forced fumbles at 14.
Harrison has 1.5 more sacks.

If Smith played for a team that gets a lot more pub I think he probably would be better recognized .

Was watching the Colts Patriots game Saturday night. Taylor came through behind Nelson for his 67 yard TD. I found this note in reading a recap.

It was second-and-8. Before the snap, left guard Quenton Nelson sniffed out a run blitz. He motioned to Pinter. This is what’s coming. Together, along with left tackle Eric Fisher, they sealed off that side of the line, paving a lane so Jonathan Taylor would have a sliver of space”

Pinter was playing for starter Kelly. Given his limited playing time, there's a good chance Pinter doesn't see that if Nelson doesn't let him know.

Does he count as interior since he played tackle in college? Maybe that's why Z Mart isn't listed

Z Mart is there, although he was a Tackle in college he's been a Guard all his NFL career.
Big Q was a Guard in college, all 3 years he was a starter at LG.

In a (very slightly) alternate world, Skoronski, Vera Tucker & Ickey Ekwonu off the Tackle list all have ND's next to their name.

Vera-Tucker's pic on his 247 profile continues to scream, Woulda Coulda Shoulda.

So glad Q is with the Colts. I keep my eye on him all throughout the game and he stills pisses people off because he's grinding until the whistle.

We're talking about a six-time Pro Bowler who was once named first-team All-Pro and has been widely recognized for a long and very productive career since being a 1st rounder with all-rookie recognition. He seems awfully highly acclaimed to me.

And this part isn't to contradict you, since I assume you're talking about NFL accomplishments, but I find it funny:
2007 DNP
2008-09 Worst college football player I've ever seen
2010-11 Fucking legend

I spend about half the Colts games watching Q. This may be his best year yet.
