i laughed out loud myself but then i found this ---Gang activity is on the rise in Utah County, with five documented gangs in Provo and Orem, making a total of eight or nine known gangs in the county, said Utah County Major Crimes Task Force Sgt. Darcy Simmons.

"What I see is an increase in gang recruitment and an increase in tagging," he said, adding fifth- and sixth-graders are showing signs of growing interest in the gang lifestyle.

Very interesting.. one of my buddies is FBI in Provo, and he used to be in the Chicago office.. He said he spends most of his time out of the area assisting with Cult like busts, or DEA meth busts.

It's a fair point.

would think Smythe and Matuska are prob the most upset...that looked to be their role w/ Smythe being more of an offensive weapon....not wishing any bad luck to the guy but he has had concussion issues each of the seasons he has played

Meh, not really. They got more reps. He didn't get reps. Doesn't matter what they think, and I also doubt that any of them really care.

Anyway he may play a different position with Jacob filling his role at TE?

Maybe redshirt a year and try LT? DE?

What about tackle? Take a year to redshirt?

Height / Weight : 6-2½ / 255, per Tyler's ND biography.

The kid is never going to play an interior offensive line position for Notre Dame. I had a thought about switching him to defense, but it got so lonely, it just died.

I think they could use him as a H-back, do a lot with him in motion, to disguise formations a power, and get him in position as a lead blocker.

Jut for the hell of it I would like to see him carry the ball on some short yardage situations. But who knows?

To short for tackle and not enough girth for interior. I agree best spot for him is Hback.

I want him to develop into the type of in-line blocker that can come in on goal line situations and effectively be a sixth offensive linemen. We can either run it to that side behind Luatua, McGlinchey and Nelson or run a play action w/ Luatua chipping his man then sneaking out into the flat for the easy TD. If he can do that 2-3 times next year, he'll be well worth the scholly.

It's true. A real war zone out there. The raccoon in a headband is the most violent:

Guess he is punished for leaving the team and transferring, but then coming back.

I mean the oline is so dominant right now, they don't need him as an extra blocker, especially being that H back on run plays.......

I've had the same question, why haven't we seen more of him. I realize we kind of telegraph to the defense what we're doing when he's in the game, but hell...why should our running game have to be deceptive. Just line up big bodies and punch the other team in the mouth sometimes. Luatua brings a great physical presence to the run game, and we've been struggling to get the running game going.

He's been on the field here and there, but I'd imagine the lack of Luatua sightings have something to do with his conditioning. He wasn't participating in anything football-related for a decent amount time while he was considering/executing/reversing his transfer.

Sparty telegraphs what they are doing and seems to be able to run the ball. lol

Not really, they use tons of play action. So they show "run" basically all the time but then it's a coin flip whether they actually run out of that set. It's its own type of deception.

Granted medical hardship; football career is over. Although he will be staying to earn his degree. Best of luck to Tyler.

Damn. At least he's staying to get the degree.

Best of luck, Tyler. Your time was short, but the physicality was appreciated.
