Double check what... Rivals' work? Scout's work?
I provided the links, that's all I can do. If you know something else, share it.

The link said Sanford watched Daniels in October. Rivals put Sanford as Daniels' recruiter. Is that so shocking as he's the OC/QB coach? Was Sanford not in on McKinley? Alloway?

That's all I got.

.

I mean that is what I have been saying to you. It's not a Sanford offer. I would agree with some of the sentiments on the board yesterday that journalists need to do a better job of checking info. This isn't a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but the right coach does need to get credit for the recruitment.

Damian Alloway is from Fontana (Calif.).
Javon McKinley is from Corona (Calif.)

Both are in Sanford's territory, which is outside the greater Los Angeles area.

Mike Denbrock recruits Los Angeles.

If Notre Dame decides to pursue Daniels, it would be Denbrock as his primary recruiter and Sanford tag teaming him at times. I would be very shocked if they pursued Daniels hard. Very early in his recruitment. He can sling the rock, but 2018 and 2019 are going to be very deep classes with QBs and I am not sure Daniels projects as high as some other prospects.

A lot of the coaches did mention they recruit their position nationwide on the signing day show.

Don't see why it has to be one recruiter only.

And I see you citing your sources Crusader. wasnt MLA format tho, so I am docking you 10 points.

Why is this their first offer if that's the case? Just a PR move?

If you are saying that Denbrock called him an offered him. Fine. You should know, it's what you do. I'm just passing along published info.

Those are in the greater LA area. Both are Inland Empire. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Mater Dei to Corona Centennial. Bosco is 15 minutes from Centennial. Now, Fontana is just across the San Bernadino Co line and Corona is just across the Riverside Co line so if they are doing it by county that's fine... but that's horrible territory management. Once again, it's what you do so you should have seen the maps. I was just under the assumption from this link that Denbrock had LA/IE/OC/SD and Sanford had everything north.

I'd be shocked too. He's limited athletically, he's short so far & he's a pure drop back passer. Unless he ends up 6-5+ and so good you'd change your offense to accommodate him, I can't see him in the current ND system but they didn't offer Trevor Lawrence in the '18 class and he has the physical skill set to be the kind of QB I mentioned.

I think what this is free marketing which I love and it keeps you in the doors at Mater Dei. There are schools that you should be recruiting multiple players in everyday. Mater Dei is one of them, like Bosco, De La Salle, IMG, Aquinas, etc. This is a 4 year pass to the Mater Dei campus.

I did 15 years for Cox Enterprises. My days of MLA are OVAH!

A good one if so and like I said above, it keeps you in the doors at one of America's biggest high school factories.

ITT: People arguing over a kid who has yet to become a sophomore.

No, arguing over the passing along of published information that's cited and who's to blame for it when it's wrong as deemed by someone in the recruiting business. We are in agreement about the recruit himself... I think.

Don't you like usc, oregon and ND?

lol fckkkk no. I actually have some family ties to both schools and growing up I did want to go to USC. So I do watch them but if ND football didn't exist anymore I would be an LSU fan

I am confused what that has to do with the point I brought up

I guess I am just one of those guys who don't understand how you can root for two different college programs in the same state because one is good at basketball and the other is good at football. But IU basketball blows but I understand where their fans come from.

So it's all good if it's different states? Got it. A kid from wiscy liking LSU makes so much more sense.....

I've always just liked the way LSU plays plus Death Valley I don't think there is a better environment for a football game. You could say I jumped on the bandwagon but it's not like I watch all of LSU games or follow their every move.

Maybe it's just me making fun of my buddy who is an Arkansas football and KSU football fan but a die hard Kansas basketball fan. What if someone was a Duke basketball fan but a UNC football fan? Wouldn't give them grief? Maybe it's just me but I know I'm not alone here. If you want to be an IU basketball fan and a ND football fan I am not stopping ya nor should my opinion matter. I just like to give my buddy a hard time about it because he gets so worked up over this convo. Mind you he roots for the Chiefs when they are good and claims himself the biggest Packer fan.

I guess I just don't understand rooting for two programs from the same state because one is good at basketball and the other is good at football.

Alright man per the usual these convos go absolutely nowhere with you. If you want to root for 3 different teams from three different states or different teams from the same states then all the power to ya. You give me a hard time for LSU yet you're a Cubs fan, Lakers fan, Redwings fan and Notre Dame fan assuming you root for the Patriots as well? Most call those fans or people the worst sports fans but I won't. I just think it's funny but you don't have to agree with me

Enjoy your night

Dude, u are in a class of 19 thread making fun of reversable jacket fans. This conversation was going nowhere LONG before I joined, LOL.

Maybe you need a history lesson but cubs haven't won anything since 1908. So yeah, I'm a big front runner! Smh....

Buts bears, if u must know, who only have one championship, thats before I was born.

GPA got ND tickets when he got back from war, I've been to at least two games a year since 1992 (4 years old) SSO I doubt I even could comprehend how good they were at that time.

Did I front run a a kid liking Lakers and red wings, probably. But I still rep my Lakers today after the three worse seasons in franchise history.

But I wouldn't expect some random from nowhere wiscy to understand why people like IU bball and ND fb. So the reversable jacket shots are somewhat valid, from Purdue fans...

And I've had a great night outside of being in Evansville, in for work.

Hope you have a good night as well, GB.

don't tell me you are one

Mine makes a little more sense. I'm a basketball guy. I'm from Indiana but a very Catholic town 30 minutes from the Dome. When IU and ND won NC's back to back in '76 & '77, I was in 4th and 5th grade. I started going to ND Football & Basketball games in '73, good year to start. I always liked both basketball teams except when I had to play against them in college. I've had a lot of good friends play for both, Purdue too. I was 1-1 against the Irish and Digger hated the mighty Crusaders because of it. I was even 5-1 against your boys UW Green Bay when Dick Bennett was coaching and Tony was playing. Yes, I am old... but I ain't 50 old.

BTW... Digger's biggest failure was not losing to us as he would always point out on ESPN it was not signing South Bend St. Joe's Tom Abernathy when he got to ND in '72. If he had, IU wouldn't have gone 63-1 and won the '76 NC and maybe it would have been the ND's '74 or '76 teams that would have won it all.

Speak of the devil... One of the great ND Football / IU basketball towns in the country. I did a two year bit down there 92-93 when IU and ND were #1 and came up empty thanks to Duke and BC. Very IU hopps hillbilly but very ND FB Catholic too. Horrible place to be in the winter... Great Bierstube's all summer thanks to all those German Catholics.

I get where GB is coming from. It feels icky that you can have a favorite school in one sport, but not ALL sports, simply because the other school is better at a certain sport, so you latch on to them as well.

Living in Kentucky, this is how every single UK fan is. They root for UK in basketball first and foremost, because they're from Kentucky and they have state pride and UK is the best and so on and so forth... but when it comes to football, they either "don't like college football" or they have a favorite team that is in the SEC but doesn't have the name "Kentucky."

Some are honest about it, acknowledging that UK is generally bad at football, which is why they root for a different school in the "secondary" sport. Others ignore the issue and beat the "SEC! SEC! SEC!" drum, pretending that they can latch on simply via conference affiliation, celebrating Bama titles as if UK had something to do with it.

The problem I have, is that UK fans are supposed to HATE the other SEC teams. Those are supposed to be their rivals. But because UK fans don't feel threatened by the other basketball schools, and because they know their football team sucks, they put aside those general *rules* and root for the powerhouses when it's convenient, rather than living and dying by the school they profess to love.

I view it the same way as ND-football and IU-basketball fans. It just doesn't make sense to me. Those are two in-state schools that share competitive territory... they don't play every year in basketball (or do they?), and I don't know the last time they played football (early 90's?), but they still compete for local talent at times and are two different programs... I just don't know how you can split your allegiances between two schools based on how good they are at separate sports. It feels like cheating.

That would be like me being a die-hard UC football fan, but a big Xavier basketball fan. It's just not right lol.

I think SW Indiana is heavily German Catholic. I know Jasper has a large population of German Catholics. Roncalli and Jasper had some great head to head games in the semi-state back in the 90's and early 00's. They hated each other even though they only met during the tournament.

YES! Thank you explaining this more in depth I agree with everything you stated. Glad I am not alone in feeling this way.
