Hmm. To me this seems like it might be a recruitment where the bowl game performance matters a ton.

He's not for sure visiting OSU this weekend

Potentially good news. However, if he does make the trip to OSU, seems like he could have made the trip to ND just as easily and, since that was the original plan, this does not look good for us.

Except for that whole expenses being paid for one trip versus having to pay out of pocket for the other.........

I know people have budgets.

but my thought is what's another 9 hour roundtrip addition to seeing a school you can potentially enroll at.

It's an investment that will set you down your path for the rest of your life. Why not if you're considering them.

Maybe he's using the OV to O$U to get to South Bend....

Listened to Wiltfong's appearance on the Bucknuts podcast and he was asked about Demetris and pOSU.

Wiltfong said he's not sure of Demetris's interest and he would consider pOSU as more of a long shot.

FWIW, he cancelled his visit.

Not making the trip cause his basketball team needs him.

https://www.dawgnation.com/football/recruiting/5-star-uga-target-pauses-two-possible-recruiting-trips-for-one-important-reason

Team.

That’s the reason why 5-star UGA target Demetris Robertson no longer had to decide between an official visit to Ohio State or an unofficial to UGA for Kirby Smart’s first recruiting event.

Robertson will be one of the nation’s most sought-after prospects over the next two months, but he opted to uphold a commitment he had already made. He’s a likely impact receiver in the Terry Godwin mold at the next level, but right now he still belongs on the Savannah Christian basketball team.

“Our starting point guard Aaron Osbourne and one of other other guards, Jordan Grant, are out for five-to-seven weeks,” he told DawgNation. “So I felt the need to stay back so we can have some depth. These are region (basketball) games we’re playing this weekend so my team is most important right now. No visits anywhere this weekend.”

The nation’s No. 2 athlete said Ohio State was “wonderful” about his change of plans. He will reschedule that trip for January.

What’s next for Robertson? The Kirby Smart-to-UGA news should boost an already very good chance at landing Robertson. He named Stanford as his leader months ago, but that’s contingent upon his acceptance and the ability to take an official visit to that prestigious institution.

Robertson was committed to Alabama for almost a year and Smart was a major reason why. He was one of Smart’s first calls after getting the UGA job.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder has already taken official visits to Cal and Notre Dame. UGA, Alabama, Ohio State and Stanford appear to be the leading contenders for his final three official visits at this time.

Yea, not leaving the south. Apparently his best relationship is with Saban.
I love how Bama continues to draw the attention of elite receivers without the benefit of a bona fide QB. Is this still the Julio Jones effect or is it just "Bama" that's grabbing their attention?

Well they did just put out Amari Cooper. As long as they are winning as much as they are the talent will go their. Also, they run a pro style offense so they continue to pitch that they run a pro style offense at the highest level and slip some cash and there you have it. Elite recruits everywhere, lol.

Serious qu and not trying to argue. Would you guys also take fuller's senior year over Robertson for the next 3-4? I'd take Robertson with less thought than the jalon/kelly qu.

Koon we cant play this game for every single recruit

And there's absolutely no reason we can't have both Fuller now and Robinson later.
Scholarships are only an issue this time of year when we're bored, nobody's transferred or flunked out yet and we're thisclose on all the big recruits.
So they're never actually an issue.

Have you watched Ridley this year? Dude is amazing. Their number one receivers are super productive.

Exactly Julio and Cooper were both top 10 picks, Ridley is a stud and they also had a solid WR who went in the mid rounds two years ago I think.

Notre Dame has Mike Floyd and that's it. Tate was 6 years ago a different coach and was a second rounder.

I mean, we also had a TE that's leading the entire NFL in receiving TDs this season. That has to count for something.
