Outside of the CFP, this is potentially the best bowl game match up there is. We beat SEC ass last year. Time to beat some Urban ass this year. We clearly play up to the moment, and have 2 losses by a combined score of under a touchdown to the best team in America and a top 10 team, both away. Let's go get it done. W.W.B.F.D? This is what college fucking football is about! Sexy bowl match-ups against other great teams from around the country. We rarely play OSU, this is a great game for the sport. I'm happy we didn't get Houston as that isn't a marquee match-up. We played FSU in the regular season and a bowl the past few years. We built our program on these types of games. Get fucking excited you sniveling cry-babies.

I love it. One of the big boys again, as it should be. Have an opportunity to play in probably the most watched bowl game, against a great team/program. We go in and handle business then no one can say anything about whether or not the Irish are among the nation's elite once again. In the past when we went to BCS bowls and the national title, I tried to talk myself out of the scenario that unfolded, we were outclassed physically all over the field. That won't be the case this year. I have no idea what will happen in the game, but we finally have comparable athletes to the big boys again. Staff will coach em up, and we'll see what happens.

This. I'm a part of the group whose heart rate increases when they know the Irish are playing a legitimate opponent but then I remember that we, too, have a good team.

But I'm sure if we lose, plenty will show up and post, "See, I knew we should've played Army in that one bowl".

I hope BK wins this one to shut all of the whiney f*c*'s mouths. Then all of this, "BK isn't a good coach" and "ND can't compete at the top level" will hopefully die down...for a few weeks until some transfer/injuries occur.

I actually don't mind the start time. With New Years Eve the day before, I am taking a four day weekend. Which means, day drinking will commence on the sunrise of the new year. I shall eat a brunch on this day, and any day that includes a brunch and ND football, is a good one.

I'm very excited for the matchup and I'm mostly of the mindset that I want ND to play in the biggest game possible on the biggest stage therefore giving it the best opportunity. With that said. I really didn't enjoy the 2012 NCG. However, I don't see that happening here. I think we'll be able to score on them to keep us in the game but I'm fairly skeptical that our defense can stop them. Though there offense has looked spotty (some really good and some really bad) they have a lot of playmakers and we have a propensity for giving up big plays.

Though Adams has been playing well getting CJ back and healthy would go a long way in being to keep up with the amount of points I think will be scored in this game.

I was at a luncheon today that Todd Blackledge was at and he mentioned the Fiesta Bowl. He was very complimentary towards ND. Called them explosive offensively and a very good team.
