I'll bet the house he doesn't go there. When he's ready to enroll at SC, they will have Max Browne - RS Jr, Jalen Greene - Jr / RS So, Ricky Town - So / RS Fr, Sam Darnold - So / RS Fr & 3 other QB's I don't know much about.

I could understand if Patterson was in SC's local footprint and he was fulfilling his dream of being a Trojan but that's signing up behind two former #1 overall QB's, a California All-State and Mission League MVP, and Darnold, the best kept secret in HS Football. (If it weren't for the #1 QB this year - Rosen and the #1 QB next year Costello being within 20 miles of him, he'd be the best QB in SoCal as I personally feel he's out played Barnett and Waller).

That's a big log jam to travel half way across the country to jump behind when you can go to LSU and battle with two 4 star DT QB's for playing time.

Hopefully we land Henry, and it's a non-issue, but we visited today:

From Loy's QB article today. Ole miss blew away Shea and his family while on his visit recently. So much so that Loy feels they lead.

Would that be the same Ole Miss that lost two in a row and is finally coming back down to earth? Not worried.

Playing devils advocate...........Maybe they aren't looking at two losses in a row. Maybe they are seeing some improvement last year and more improvement this year, which means they're moving in the right direction. Now if they flame out the rest of the year, I could see that hurting Ole Misses chances.

Same can be said for ND football program as well, so that's a wash IMO

I wouldn't go to ND if I were him. ND is due for an under the radar high 3 / or late 4 star QB/ATH this cycle like Devon Modster. An athlete that can and or does play other positions. Something else to remember is that Indiana has the #1 HS QB in '17, Hunter Johnson. ND will most likely make a run at him even though he doesn't seem to fit into the MZ / BW mold.

*** I will add if he was me, he'd go to ND as I'd rather sit the bench at ND if that's how it shook out than play football at Tennessee, Indiana, or any other school I didn't care about.

As expected Ole Miss won the bidding for his brother sweepstakes. He committed today.

I would say that I am sad but landing Wimbush changed everything, and Pattetson was my number one want at QB this cycle. Good luck to him and all, but I could not be more thrilled with were we stand at the QB position!

Not surprised by somebody thinking that, but would be surprised if anything came of it.

Tinfoil hat time. So I was thinking about this the other day and it wouldn't surprise me if it was the case. Since 2013 they have had the 8, 15, and 17th best recruiting classes in the country. What gives? Are people not as excited about what Freeze is doing down there are is there something they aren't doing that they did in 2013?

Like with Clemson*, it was laughably obvious that Ole Miss was brazenly paying people because of all the photos of piles of cash floating around. And there was always some nonsensical excuse like "my aunt works at a bank" (which actually does nothing at all to explain how/why that means you'd somehow have a stack of $10k in your hand you're posting on Instagram). Everyone who is anyone knew they were dirty, it's just impossible to prove in this day and age unless someone gets caught doing something illegal or sued and has to give a deposition about the money.

The other telltale sign of a bought class is when it is exceedingly top heavy. 2013 had 4 guys at the tippy top of rankings... then they had more guys rated below Nicco Fertitta than they had as 4 stars. Most classes you see a recruiting powerhouse like Bama, Ohio State, FSU, or USC recruit have their jewels, then a pretty even decent through the rankings capping out around a high 3-star, and then maybe a couple developmental fliers.

*Clemson has since rounded into a consistent team based on results on the field, and while still skirting rules on a regular basis isn't entirely dependent on buying stars anymore.

Good point.

I've long thought that the general philosophy with a lot of these coaches is if they do it at first, Cycle 1, then as those players develop and they get better on the field guys will want to come and they won't have to do it anymore. What they don't account for is maybe not being very good at developing/coaching those players or just not getting good enough success on the field.

will be attending IMG this year. They went from Malik Henry to Shea. I'd say they're doing okay for themselves down there in Florida

Not where I would want to go with a coach who is run first to the point that he's almost run only but being an Ole Miss commit in LSU country might have been hard of his social life.
