From Loy's QB article today. Ole miss blew away Shea and his family while on his visit recently. So much so that Loy feels they lead.
Would that be the same Ole Miss that lost two in a row and is finally coming back down to earth? Not worried.
Playing devils advocate...........Maybe they aren't looking at two losses in a row. Maybe they are seeing some improvement last year and more improvement this year, which means they're moving in the right direction. Now if they flame out the rest of the year, I could see that hurting Ole Misses chances.

Not gonna lie, this one hurts. Was really hoping we could become a serous player here.
Not surprised by somebody thinking that, but would be surprised if anything came of it.
Tinfoil hat time. So I was thinking about this the other day and it wouldn't surprise me if it was the case. Since 2013 they have had the 8, 15, and 17th best recruiting classes in the country. What gives? Are people not as excited about what Freeze is doing down there are is there something they aren't doing that they did in 2013?

Like with Clemson*, it was laughably obvious that Ole Miss was brazenly paying people because of all the photos of piles of cash floating around. And there was always some nonsensical excuse like "my aunt works at a bank" (which actually does nothing at all to explain how/why that means you'd somehow have a stack of $10k in your hand you're posting on Instagram). Everyone who is anyone knew they were dirty, it's just impossible to prove in this day and age unless someone gets caught doing something illegal or sued and has to give a deposition about the money.
The other telltale sign of a bought class is when it is exceedingly top heavy. 2013 had 4 guys at the tippy top of rankings... then they had more guys rated below Nicco Fertitta than they had as 4 stars. Most classes you see a recruiting powerhouse like Bama, Ohio State, FSU, or USC recruit have their jewels, then a pretty even decent through the rankings capping out around a high 3-star, and then maybe a couple developmental fliers.
*Clemson has since rounded into a consistent team based on results on the field, and while still skirting rules on a regular basis isn't entirely dependent on buying stars anymore.
I thought he looked really good in what I saw of the Opening.
