Every time I think about the fact that we could have seen Keuchly and Teo playing next to each other in the middle, I want to vomit.
The only thing that can top that is the thought of hearing Iverson to Moss 10 times a game.
It's clear the other Midwest powers didn't love Burks and Tucky either. Michigan State didn't offer either kid, which is a telling sign, as both kids are guys Sparty typically tests the water on.
Sparty didn't offer Ogundeji or Jhonny Williams either.
Notre Dame and the other Midwest power schools didnt feel the need to take a risk on either.
And this isn't to criticize the staff about not taking either kid. It's a discussion board. We are here to discuss ND football topics. The Kuechly - Tucky stories are very similar, it's discussion worthy. Oh, and to be fair to perennial 10 win Wisconsin, they offered both per Rivals.
"Didn't feel the need to take a risk"
OK, I get that with Burks. ND got a better prospect at the same general position with Hayes but if you are gonna take risks on a Ogundeji as a project, how can you object to taking a shot on a 6-2, 215 pound LB that is faster than anybody you have. You can't teach his kinda fast. I'm not saying he is faster than CJ Sanders
but his best reported 100 time at a sanctioned track meet is faster than CJ's best reported time. The guy has some eye popping measurables. I know it didn't translate enough to get him an ND / OSU offer but neither did Kuechly, Chris Borland, Denicos Allen, Whitney Mercilus or Jerel Worthy. (Granted some of those may have been academic reasons with ND)
Like I said, this thread doesn't flare back up if not for the similar stories of Kuechly and Tucky.
